I just posted a picture on my WhatsApp status and everyone commented dope or fire even Dudes last year on my Instagram and I didn’t see anything wrong with it and now my other friend said I don’t look like myself and it’s a bit Gay imagine 10 months ago everyone said it was fire and now that I’m going through this someone comments that ? I’m trying hard not to panic but fuck ?? I’m breaking down
My old ocd symptoms were around checking safety in the house, locks, doors and windows, the cooker etc I recovered from that for years, and I just realised all this time I’ve subconsciously been telling myself “well if I REALLY had ocd, those things would still bother me and get in the way of my life, so I MUST have been faking it” Ocd hasn’t bothered me much for years. Just the odd bit of checking but it’s manageable. Now, my obsessions are “what if I have an std and my partner thinks I cheated and leaves me” , because all this time I’ve been feeling like I faked ocd due to fucking RECOVERING from it, I struggle to see this as ocd cuz my mind tells me it’s not ocd and therefore my worries MUST BE REAL
What keeps you guys going? Really hate my life right now so I just want to know what keeps yall moving
Can someone give me any advice on how to get through the hard times when you feel like there is truly no hope at all?
Anyone able to find success with ERP without the use of medication? I have been on almost all the SSRIs and I can’t tolerate the side effects. Trying it without them
Help requested! I’m writing a creative nonfiction paper on Pure O and I think it’d be cool to include some other people’s experiences so it’s not just me droning on about my anxiety-filled woes. The paper is, namely, about the misconceptions of OCD and the Buzzfeed “Check your OCD Radar!” quiz culture of “Oh I’m so clean lol I have OCD.” If you’d like to help me out either comment a story of how Pure O/misconceptions of OCD have affected you or something you want people to know about OCD. For full disclosure: the essay will be read by about twenty people (also pray I don’t get baker acted after exposing my intrusive thoughts in person to a classroom full of people lol)
Anyone else have to do things an even amount of times. For example, stepping on a crack or touching someone?
A nasty thought came into my head and it's so hard not to get angry or distressed or anything because it's so nasty and I try to tell myself it's just a thought let it pass. But how can I let it pass when it's so disgusting like how
Starting to question if my partner has ROCD/ocd in general? He has trichotillomania and has done for years. He’s had a history of convincing himself in the past he had rabies from an animal, nearly made himself agoraphobic for six months as a result until he “had a stern word with himself” hes also has described to me of feeling like flinging himself off a balcony and lately complains of feeling jittery. My main reason for thinking this, is that we have only been together for a year and in that time he’s fake dumped me at least five times, which in turn flares up MY rocd because I’m terrified of being abandoned and need to check he still likes me etc His narcissistic ex is still around due to work and caused issues interfering initially which was the first time he said he “should” stop seeing me. We continued to see each other. Then went on a long weekend away together Then he said it wasn’t fair again Then went on ANOTHER long weekend away together Then he said he wasn’t interested and I had to leave and cut it off immediately after I tried to broach my std paranoia making me think he would leave me etc, said I was opening a can of worms and he doesn’t want it anymore. I left for the day and he admitted he didn’t want me to go and picked me up. Then he took me abroad Then he said it again the other night. We talked about his bitch ex and then he drunkenly brought up my past. Admitted he thinks that so many bad experiences I had before him I MUST have wanted it and at times he questioned if I’m for him and still does. Said it’s complicated and he nearly once walked out of my flat and never returned, except he didn’t do that. Then he took me to the cinema after we talked. Now he’s saying he feels empty and doesn’t know how he feels in general and it must be frustrating for me He’s never once actually left me, just essentially fucking dangled it as a possibility multiple times. Now we are meant to go for a long weekend away again and I’m shitting myself to be quite frank. Can’t look forward to it and don’t trust it won’t happen again. I feel doomed.
I can’t see how my situation applies to ocd or intrusive thoughts? Long story short I’m terrified I’m riddled with STDs and my partner will think I cheated and leave me. Neither of us have ever had one but I started having weird symptoms and googled them, THEN I spiralled. How can this constant nagging all day everyday fear be considered intrusive thoughts when I had symptoms? I’ve been tested about 6 times since that initial symptom and it’s been clear. Had clear results last week too. Now I’m panicking because my partner had painful urination a day ago and I feel like my relationship is at risk again. I only feel this way because we had symptoms!!!! How is this intrusive I don’t understand. I feel my situation is different I’m scared 24/7
Anyone with contamination ocd have success with ERP? Is not even thinking about it really the path to getting over this?
I am really getting sick of this psychosis obsession. I don’t even know what’s happening around me anymore because I am so focused on it. I was convinced somebody was in the fan last night (not convinced, I knew their wasn’t logically but... you catch my drift) and I can’t seem to find anyone who has had these specific thoughts, so therefore I must be experiencing psychosis. I also have been hearing stuff as I’m falling asleep. I just can’t move on from this one. I don’t know what to do anymore. I hate being alone.
Re: ROCD | It's so terrifying to me that you can invest yourself in a person and have no way of knowing what they really think or feel or their motives for things. They can leave one day over something you weren't even aware of and there's basically nothing you can do
i’m in a bit of an anxiety episode and can’t use the sos button because i haven’t set up my plan but the obsession i’m having isn’t even in my hierarchy and i can’t add more? idk? my anxiety around eating right and my health got triggered badly when a documentary was playing about animal products and all the negative health effects. i wasn’t prepared to hear this because i’m such a picky eater and don’t even know what i would do if i cut those out i have such a hard time feeling okay eating already because i’m so picky and so concerned about eating healthy.knowing this new stuff just sends me down another impossible seeming path of obsessing over the fact that i could be killing myself slowly whenever i eat bc i’m not eating good enough. :/
I wake up and think: i wanna kill myself. Then i fall back asleep for 10 min and wakeup and i feel like i can conquer the world and i wanna live my life and im okay! Then i gotta walk to the train starion i get a wave of sadness and anxiety and i think idk what inwant anymore. I get to school and just think: what the fuck than i go home and feel glad i got trougch another day living in this stupid world and i start doubting everything and i cant wait to binge eat, ditch my family and watch my favourite show where i will get anxious over because i wont enjoy it the way i used to and all of a sudden i dont have a crush on all the guys i used to crush on in the show and the i get sad because im forcing myself to like the show the same way as i used to but i just cant and i get anxious and fall back asleep in tears. I wake up and the same cycle starts over.

I’ve been fine with my OCD for years now after intensive out patient in middle school. I’m very aware of my ocd and anxiety but there’s this one thing that i’m realizing might be an obsession and I figured i’d ask if anybody else could weigh in or relate. My on and off boyfriend/bestfriend is the closest and most positive person in my life but there’s complications and i’m constantly worried about being interesting or coming up with a real conversation or making us do something because i’m obsessively worried that if we don’t know what to talk about or do we will become stuck and stagnant and meet some terrible end between us. i constantly pressure myself to lead us to excitement always and deep conversations and to just be perfect or something and i’ve broken down when we hang out because i’m so crushed under the pressure when neither of us know what to say or do. it feels like a tragedy bc it makes me think we won’t work or are secretly bad for eachothers lives idk i’m writing so much bc i’m anxious ahhhhhhh hahaha
Has anyone suffered from OCD for more than a year, perhaps some years? I'm just wondering how has it affected your sexual life (sex drive, ability to enjoy it, etc.). I know at the begininning of OCD is common to lose interest in sex. But I mean more in the long run, does sex life goes back to what it was or we just learn to live with it being a smaller part of our life than what it used to be?
Hello! I haven’t posted anything here in a while. I’ve had a really bad relapse lately with my ROCD in terms of I keep arguing with my SO, and thinking that the more we argue means that we are “on the road to breakup” so now every time I see him, I get sad and worried and I don’t have that “in love” feeling because I’m just so worried. I know that all of this is OCD and it’s normal to argue, consider breaking up even, and say things we don’t mean... but my brain won’t stop doing this over and over. I don’t know how to stop the cycle! Any help would be appreciated!
