actual attrcation. i’ve decided im gonna just let the false attraction happen, not try to stop it or question it. is it wrong for this erp to juts when i watch a video and get a false attraction just experience the false feelings and scroll? because i feel like the longer i sit with it the longer i begin to question whether its real or not.
the more you fight with it, the more it gonna get stronger. Try to accept them, rven enjoy them. Take this from an ex-hocd guy.
@calebtrask How do you do it? Honestly I find it so distressing. I’ve tried and tried and tried but my mind is constantly fighting against itself. I’m married man to an amazing woman with two children and it gets me so upset with it all?

@What is happening to me It took a good amount of time to do it. I was only 15 or something (maybe 16) when It hit for the first time. It would always make disgusted with myself, cringe and sad. But, then it clicked to me that I literally having no power on those senses and feelings and the more I give attention, bigger they would become. So, I literally accepted them, which also meant that I accepted the possibility of being in an sexual orientation that wasn't that I wasnt identifying in. It was extremely hard, but the more I accepted those feelings and possible meaning under them, the weaker they have became. Now, I'm 21, and I literally don't ever get those feelings anymore. Because, all those stuff were created by my own mind's obsession. And lemme tell you something, for the past years, I have been very confident about my sexuality. I just know that I'm straight guy, I dont have to reestablish that face over and over again... Sometimes I get groinals. I just take a notice of it and smile. I smile at how something so insignificant could make me lose many nights of sleep. I'm happy to hear that you a happy family! PS: It is also funny, how I got a groinal when I typed down the word "groinal". For me, it is exculisively happens after I check. It is always artifically created by my thinking. I know how hard to see that at the moment fo you, but trust me, it will be okay and you will feel in peace inside your own body.

@Anonymous that's how ocd is! when I was dealing with it, there would always be another "what if" layer under "what if" layers. it will never. it is not a fight you can win, your brain will always create sensations, feelings and thoughts if you play in its way! @calebtrask i recently have been struggling with false attraction a lot, when i used to have soocd i struggled with it but i would suppress it and physically make the feelings go away. now ill de a video and ill get a false attraction i either hate it or i feel like i like it which makes me be sent into a state of panic. and i begin questioning everything.
@Anonymous I'm so sorry man! I really am. I have been there, I know how disgusting it may feel. suppressing can also be a for of compulsion! it always comes back stronger, man. always. It is in a way like addiction. you do compulsion to get rid of the anxiety, but then it comes back even stronger. sadly, i deal with smoking addiction and that's exactly how it feels. but, if i can just wait and resist that feeling of anxiety when I don't smoke, then the whole thing wouldnt be this big. take the metaphor and apply to ur situation.
@calebtrask wow bro, that means so much to me i don’t think you understand. i’m so happy you’re recovered, i hope i can one day too because i want to experience the love i once used to feel. i’m gonna try to sit with the anxiety, but i don’t know what time it is for you but it’s 5am in australia here where i am and i’ve been up since 12am because i went to sleep at around 7 and i normally only get like 6 hours sleep so my body work u9 and the whole time ive been awake it’s just been false attraction, checking for false attraction, groinal responses, trying to sit with them but one of them i just couldn’t do it i suppressed it and it went away and i kind of feel like i just had to to be able to fall back asleep because now im not stressed but i realise that it was a compulsion. i miss when my soocd was just thoughts and no physical reactions because it iust goes against evrything in society yk and goes against all my values. sorry for the rant my guy.

@Anonymous bro, trust me, you will be better one day. when I was back there, in the hell, I thought, "yeah, this is my life now. this is the end. nothing gonna change. i will live this way my whole life. i wont ever feel love once again in my life. I will never feel totally attracted to woman as I used to. I will never feel confident in my own self." But, man, as you can see, I'm here and more confident that I have ever been. After my soocd times, I fell in love three times. I had a long relationship. It is 12.30 am for azerbaijan, where Im from. that's also the thing with ocd. It feels like as if it always renews itself and finds new ways to torture you. but, man, it will all pass and be a distant memory. Godspeed friend, you will be okay!

@calebtrask hey man, just thought i’d reach out. today was much better i got up and did stuff but i got false attraction to literally everything, im literally getting it now just thinking about it isn’t it crazy!! do you have any tips on if i should keep watching tiktok because it triggers me a lot and i try and sit with it for erp but i find myself purposely going onto tiktok expecting false attraction and then i go into the spiral. hope you had a great day
@Anonymous Hey man! I'm sorry to hear that you had a lot of false attraction - but, sadly, that's the reality of ocd, of-course just for the time being. It is crazy! Funnily enough, when I think about groinals, I do get them. It is a weird condition, this ocd. I'm not a therapist, but that was something I would always do - go expose myself to my triggers. But, man, if it makes you that bad, then I would say, try to find a weaker trigger - so that you can get used it and actually tolerate to the anxiety. Then, you may expose yourself to bigger triggers. Take my advice with a grain of salt. Because, as I said, not a doc or therapist; I only talk regarding my personal experience. I hope it helps. Do that bro that’s the same thing I did and I’m feeling way better. I actually got groinals on purpose and didn’t get scared by them on purpose just so I can just let them happen and now I’m better. Don’t fight it

False attraction has been killing me ive had it for months with the same person. I have a boyfriend so having false attraction makes me feel so guilty. And lately theyve felt so real and ive been so anxious. What if I do like him bla bla. Ive only ever saw him as a brother and we have a good connection and he is one of my good friends but even sometimes when im having a conversation I feel like im cheating. Sometimes I get excited like oh yay he is gonna be here and then I get scared that it’s romantical because I get excited when he is around because he is a funny. Im so scared thats its real attraction because I love my boyfriend I would never do such a thing. And lately my minds done stuff like oh grab his attention stuff like that and it feels like I have done those actions but I dont want to. Sometimes when he is like idk sitting near Im like oh is he looking and my minds like oh do something to empress him bla bla. Recently he was going thought stuff and my boyfriend was there and I was I can give him a hug because I think he needs it but after I thought of it as bad because he is a guy and I had this false attraction what if I did it because I like him bla bla. I am freaking out idk why my mind makes me do compulsions that I have acted on like oh go talk to him and I do its weird urges that I do not want to do. I am scared that it will come true
hey guys, i’m almost fully healed in my socd journey but what’s stopping me is the false atractions. i get them almost 24/7 at this point and to every thing. they feel real and i hate them they make me feel disgusted. they also make me feel like hot and gross but then i see people saying thats what attractions feel like, but i have felt so much attraction to the opposite gender pre all of this and it felt nice and enjoyable not digustinf. i’m also getting false memory trying to show me ‘signal’ from my childhood to prove i’m gay amd i truly don’t know if they’re real. it’s so degrading and at this point i feel like govining up. pelesse if you have any advice or even if your going through the same thing just let me know. ocd is so terrible
