I think it’s normal to feel embarrassed or ashamed of things from the past, even people who don’t have ocd can ruminate over certain things. I would take comfort in knowing you aren’t alone in feeling regret and realize that it would be worse if you had no ability to feel remorse. Healing from and moving past old experiences isn’t the same as making excuses for your choices, it means you are actively trying to be better and you should be proud of your self rather than worried you might go backwards 💕

i am going through a very similar thing rn and i like to think of my past self as a different person. like someone im not friends with anymore because our morals are different. it’s okay to regret your past and it doesn’t make you a bad person! people change. i know for myself at least, that i have changed and i am nothing of the person i used to be. she’s not my probably anymore. and your past self should not be your problem either. focus on the now and how wonderful you are now!!!
