hey there ! OCD โthemesโ are just ways of categorizing experience. an infinite amount of themes/obsessions/compulsions can exist and even within subtypes the experiences can vary greatly. You are not alone !!

I'm not sure about a category, but I definitely feel like this!! I'll feel the need to compulsively "prove" that I'm interested in the thing, like "yes I do enjoy this band, listen while I sing every lyric to their least common song" or "no no I promise I'm not lying about being interested in this hobby you don't care about, let me list a million facts while we're both uncomfortable to prove it" ๐ ๐ ๐

I've gotten diagnosed with OCD and I'm in therapy. But I'm worried that I don't have OCD/that I got misdiagnosed. And recently I'm worried that I've just gotten myself into a habit of thinking of dirty minded or just plain old terrible things after I see/hear certain things because I feel like I need to prove I have OCD or else I'm faking(sometimes this goes away). Or that I'm just mimicking symptoms of ocd to cope with real problems I may have and that im just really deep into denial. I don't know...I'm just so tired. I mean, what if I really am what I think I am and this is my brains only way of coping? I don't even really feel anything towards most of the thoughts anymore either I just know they go against my values and I don't want them. I don't know if that's because I'm so mentally exhausted, I just don't care, or that the thoughts are true and I'm comfortable with them.

Hey guys! So I struggle with OCD, especially harm, relationship and moral stuff and I am somewhat recovered now. However, my current girlfriend has started showing signs of OCD but itโs abou5 something I donโt know much about so I wanted to see if anyone on here had thoughts about it. She is constantly thinking about food (when to eat it, what is healthy, what is too much, what is too little) and controls the thoughts by giving in and controlling her entire day around food. She donโt really know the feeling of being full. She never starved herself and always eats, but then she feels extremely guilty afterwards. Her thoughts do have to do a lot with her body image and not gaining weight but also not losing any either. Does this sound like ocd or an eating disorder?

Don't panic, you're still the same girl, your OC gives you a lot of intrusive thoughts that aren't you and that disgust you and scare you and that you don't want and that you don't think are true, and your OC gives you the false feelings. Also, don't forget that whatever comes to mind, whatever intrusive thoughts you have and whatever you feel, is all yours.
