Last night I was driving and saw a pedestrian at night while trying to make a right turn, i noticed I still had time to go before they crossed the street so I made my turn. For some reason, I thought to myself what if I hit that pedestrian with my car and didn’t notice? Once I got home I couldn’t sleep so I went back to check the intersection to see if maybe there was an ambulance/police but there wasn’t. I’m so scared
Hahaha the amount of times this has happened to me, I would need more fingers to count on. Actually it happened like 2 weeks ago! It's all a part of ocd, you would know if you hit that person and if your answer to that starts with "what if" then it's anxiety speaking.
Sorry I dont want to sound insensitive i know it sucks but i had to learn to just laugh about some stuff I conviced myself of! My thoughts can be just so wild sometimes like once I was able to to let go of "what if I hit them and I don't remember?" It turned into "what if I have a brain tumor that makes me forget things?" So don't be surprised if ocd decides to jump again! That's what it's good at!

The hitting someone with your car and going back to check is something I’ve did also I don’t really do it anymore but it causes so much anxiety then it goes away!

I’ve always thoughts my fears will never come true so it’s easy to discard my thoughts, but recently I realised they actually can come true. If I have an ocd fear that I’ve knocked someone down and I later find out I did, it means my fears are true. So doesn’t that mean my ocd makes sense and I have to keep on doing compulsions like continuiosly checking the road to make sure I don’t hit someone? I’m so confused and it’s giving me massive anxiety
Today I got ran into after not doing my compulsion to have safe driving that morning. Now my obsessions are telling me that it’s my fault and that it is just going to keep happening. I have harm ocd regarding driving and thinking I am going to kill someone. Ugh it’s so annoying that I’m triggered again just wanted to rant
Hello, I have been having Harm OCD episodes where I hit a bump in the road or drive past someone, or even zone out when driving and worry I hit someone by accident. Has anyone else dealt with this or has any suggestions to deal with this? Thank you!
