Hey everyone, Ive recently started taking meds for my ocd which has gotten bad over the last year. Ive done some light research on the side effects which has me worried a bit. Havent faced any so far but I am scared of having sexual dysfunction, decreased libido, or massive weight gain. Would love to know your guys thoughts on how you’ve navigated this.
For me, it was definitely more constant when I first started the medication. Now, it fluctuates.
I've been on a lot. No real side effects they just didn't work for me. I'm now on Anafranil. Just started tho. The intrusive thoughts aren't as bad. And when I do get them they don't stick as much.
I’ve been on Fluvoxamine for years and it has been very good for me, a real game changer in managing my OCD. I can only speak on my own experiences though. As for the side effects you mentioned, I only experienced decreased libido, but that isn’t a big deal to me. I try to think of it like this- my ability to function and enjoy my life is severely decreased by my OCD. That tells me that my priority should be to get to where I can manage my OCD so that I can enjoy my life and function properly again. Side effects are definitely important to consider, but the most important consideration is your quality of life. Wishing you well

I'm planning to take Prozac medication for my OCD. How is it for all of you? What side effects did you get? What's the worst that could happen when taking it? I was told diarrhea, suicidal thoughts, and upset stomachs were the worst that could happen. I'm a little scared of the side effects but I still want to take them soon.

Hello everyone I was recently diagnosed with OCD. I’ve spent the last ten years battle extreme anxiety and obsessive thoughts. I recently started taking Prozac. For once in my life my mind feels calm. However, they just upped my dose and my anxiety is bad and I’m having trouble sleeping this is week 2 on the medication. Anyone else experienced this?
