Does anyone else get intrusive thoughts of same sex oral sex? I’ve been struggling with this repeated intrusive thought for over two years, and everytime I get it it’s like a stab in the chest, I hate it so much if I think about it for too long it makes me feel sick and I’d never want to do it so why does it keep coming back 😔
Dont treat it so seriously. The thought may be disturbing. It may not be. But treat it like any other thought; just a car passing by. And if your mind wants to jump in the car for a little bit let it. Sitting with uncertainty is being okay with not figuring out the thought or what it means. The mind is a very powerful thing and youre learning to wield it. A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor… shits gotta be difficult for you to get stronger:)
@slippery_salad I’ll try not to, I just hate that thought so so much, especially when it’s accompanied by hyperawareness to my saliva, it’s genuinely breaking me
@Fcukocd Choose to believe the truth. Belief doesnt feel good. Its a choice to go against everything you “know.” Its beyond reason. Its unimaginable trust in God and believing the best, even when the worst is at hand
@slippery_salad I will try my best, the truth is I’m straight and the the thoughts and sensations don’t mean anything and on most days I can believe that easily just on days like this it’s a real struggle :(
@slippery_salad I’m getting thoughts and felaings I never liked women. I always liked men I’m a girl btw. When u meet somone u get a good fealing that’s diff but if a women’s nice to me I get the thought u like her and I get a fealing. I don’t want to be gay I can’t even look at women it gets bad nvm talking as a freind. I know I like men but why am I fealing this way and then I’m getting the thoughts u want to talk to women and get a fealing too
I’m not exactly how you could go about this, it will be more of a personal journey… but try to not hate the thought. Try not expressing your hate for the thought. Your strong emotional feelings towards the thought will definitely amplify any sensations. Sorry you’re going through this, friend!
@Stay.Fluid It’s okay, it seems that the hyperawareness of my saliva that it causes only causes it to happen more, because the more I think about my saliva, the more there is

I have serious ocd which focuses more on somatic stuff but I have had also this type of thoughts but never scared me or made me feel bad or something. Because I know that all minds create images like these the problem is that ocd ppl fixate on the thoughts, judge it, feel guilty. If I have an inappropriate thought I'm laughing at it and can't take it seriously because I know that all minds work like that and the thought doesnt mean anything
@anonymous34563 Yeah, I wish I could say the same, but when the images are so vivid they cause sudden gulping cos of the anxiety my ocd instantly takes it as proof of my fears and i just go into panic mode

I need advice for intrusive thoughts. I used to feel like I could handle them. They weren’t nearly as bad as the things that related to my actual life. But now, I’m suffering. I haven’t had a sexual experience in over a year that didn’t involve constant intrusive thoughts. Most are somehow related to kids and I keep chasing off the thoughts but it’s so bad. I know you’re supposed to ignore them but I don’t know how I can just ignore that and continue what I’m doing. But they’re coming on stronger. I had one earlier I could not get rid of just as things finished so the thought came on strongly just before my orgasm hit and now I feel absolutely disgusting. I hated the thought and I know it’s not me and it was not enjoyable but it still feels like I was getting off to it. I feel sick. I’m so fucking tired of these thoughts. They’re in my every day life too and it’s all the time. I just want it to stop but ignoring it feels so wrong. What should I do?
I deal pretty heavily with this. The last couple days, I’ve had what I think are urges. Something pops into my head intrusively and then what stems from that is me WANTING to just indulge in it even though it’s gross. I get worried bc I used to struggle w thoughts about my dad for a long time until eventually I just purposely thought of him while self pleasuring and got off to it. While that’s something I did, it is NOT me. It all stemmed from my mental health declining a couple years back, I was never this way before. So I get worried that it almost happened or might happen with my pocd cuz I could never live with myself if it did.
Hello, so I’ve been struggling really badly with so-ocd where I am worried that I’m not actually straight when that’s what I’ve always thought and wanted to be. I’ve been with my boyfriend for about 2.5 years now, he’s my first boyfriend and I really love him so much and want to spend the rest of my life with him. I remember one time, before I had struggles with so-ocd, I had a thought along the lines of ‘what if I’m missing out on other men by staying with him’ and it didn’t really cause any anxiety but I felt quite guilty for thinking that. But I moved on. However, right now I’m in the depths of so-ocd it started back in March I believe, and today I had a thought along the lines of ‘what if I never get the opportunity to try being with a woman because I’m in a relationship with a man’ and that has really set me off today. I’ve had a meltdown over it, my chest feels heavy and it felt so real like I actually wanted it and I had a feeling of wanting to be gay even though that’s not what I want in life. Why is this happening to me and I feel so horrible for thinking this like it felt like it was me and not the ocd and that I’m just lying to myself and my boyfriend. I’ve tried scrolling on here to see if anyone has had a similar thought or experience and I am aware that this is reassurance seeking but I just need someone to tell me that I’m okay
