i saw an instagram reel and i noticed a disturbing sight of a trigger with a noticeable bottom and the very moment i noticed and compulsively looked to check i felt a groinal response. what does this mean?
You definitely are doing a compulsion by checking your responses. Try not engaging with that and see how it feels. You don’t have to figure things out immediately
i just know i didnt like it nor enjoyed it. if it was a woman i would have had no problem. i think noticing in an instant might have caused the groinal response due to anxiety and high stimulation from the distress
@ivefailed. It’s hard to know what causes groinal, trying to explain it all the time will make you feel stuck and always on the lookout for groinals. But all of this shit is just shit. Trying to figure out what the shit is doesn’t help
You shouldn’t try to figure it out because that’s ruminating and reassurance, which is making your OCD levels increase. On the good side, you’ll start to see it as meaningless once you resist those compulsions. Your anxiety will get higher for a short time but then it will come down :)
yes but why did i feel a groinal response? it means my brain caught up on the prominent shape of a bottom and perceived it as se&ual and sent an attraction stimuli, that i cant tolerate
@ivefailed. Everyone in the world gets groinal responses now and then when they see or think something sexual. That’s what our bodies were designed for :) Even if something is disgusting to us and we wouldn’t do it in real life, our bodies still get groinal responses purely because of the sexual content. All groinal responses mean is that you have a groin that works haha 👍😄 That’s what a therapist told me And you can tolerate uncomfortable feelings. You’re doing that as we speak :) Panic attacks cannot kill you. They always pass and they pass faster the less you do compulsions
@OneDayAtATimee yes but what do they mean? groinal responses, why would it happen when it specifically triggered me? i just know that bottom shouldnt have looked like that on a trigger. As soon as i noticed i felt a tingle in my groin, why would my brain make me feel that... i cannot tolerate it. thanks for answering

Sometimes our private parts get stimulated for no personal reason and that's all it is :) It has no reflection on our morals or values. You're thinking very deeply on it, which is what's making it so distressing for you. And especially if you saw something resembling a butt, that makes sense that you experienced a groinal. Butts are often seen as sexual in nature. People get groinal responses when they have harm thoughts. People get groinal responses when they get intrusive thoughts about animals. People get groinal responses when they think about children. It's all meaningless and Ocd is the one freaking you out

Does anyone else when they have the thoughts, they feel against it, but they still get arousal or tenglings sensations in the groinal area? Because this is what I experienced today and I feel like crap. This is going to be very triggering for a lot of you, but there are a lot of times that I notice things from kids. For example, there is a thirteen year old kid who looks very developed for her age, and I take notice of (and this already sounds creepy to me) her chest. Today with my thoughts, I imagined as if I were touching it, and although I usually "no no or "I don't want to do that", she is a kid, etc., I still get responses in my groinal area, and It felt very real. Even now, I feel as though I am faking it, even though I groan 😮💨 from it, and feel as though I am a fraud. Does anyone relate?
hi does anyone ever get a random grounal response then feel aroused but you don’t want to be like before i had the thought i was feeling a little aroused then i had a random thought and it had the ground response and i felt aroused i don’t understand.
Everyone talks about the physical sensations that come with reacting to sexual content, even if it’s something you do not agree with (like bestiality, pedophilia, or incest). But what about the mental feeling, like when it feels like you liked the thought? I think I might have asked this before, but does anyone else relate? It stresses me out that I have a mental reaction to something of sexual content more than groinals. Anyone else?
