Unfortunately kids do really stupid things. And like you said they also do things they see other people do. You have to give yourself grace and forgive yourself. I also did something horrific when I was like 7 and I have never forgiven myself for it and I think it’s taking years off my life.

i have also made mistakes which i consider terrible in my childhood. everyone around me told me the same thing but as someone with ocd its your own brain that’s giving you these thoughts, its also hard to see a different perspective from people around you as ocd makes you just want to be the perfect person, and knowing you’ve made a mistake feels like it eliminates that. without trying to reassure too much as we all know it feeds those short term compulsive behaviors- it is true that childhood mistakes do not reflect on your behaviors in adulthood. children & even teens don’t have developmental brains yet so it is bound for mistakes to happen. we’re impulsive at that age, curious about things. it is all really normal. i’d really recommend watching these if you haven’t already https://youtu.be/gIPQJUx7ujw?si=ju539dZ-ecI0kqoX https://youtu.be/qfMYlJqZ7to?si=9MX5uvOqwXSq-xMb and this https://youtu.be/gIPQJUx7ujw?si=ju539dZ-ecI0kqoX she covers all the topics of childhood exploration and explains it to you with a fresh perspective. hope you’re well :)

@J🧸 hey don’t worry i only just saw this too!! thank you so so much, id say its like a cycle there’s days where it doesn’t bother me and days where its the only thing on my mind and almost craving some reassurance and that’s the hardest thing. i hope you’re doing well too! and of course!! supporting real event sufferers is so important as judgement from others is honestly one of the biggest things sometimes and that almost can hold someone back from healing, i think personally is the thing holding me back at the moment, so thank you so much for your support too 🫶 also about the AI don’t worry i’ve felt the same. i confessed to it a few times but it really isn’t healthy. i think the best way to avoid asking it for reassurance is everytime you get the urge just put your phone down and go do something else to distract you until the anxiety fades, and if it hasn’t maybe even just write down how you’re feeling either on note or paper, and then once the intrusive thoughts are out of the mind throw it away or delete it. i’m not sure if that helps but i find it helps for me!! if you ever need to talk i’m here ! and i wish good and happy days your way too 🫶
