Harm OCD has always been my main theme and I've been dealing with it from the age of 15 but a new theme appeared a few years ago of the fear of schizophrenia. Its the commands during an OCD theme that gave me the new obsession that its actually voices when it isn't. It's so annoying and I just wondered if anyone else here experiences or has experienced this?
I just want you to know. I have been there. I have dealt with this and you’re not alone. My therapist told me that sometimes intrusive thoughts can come through as commands.
Thank you. I hasn't heard about the commands with OCD until a few years ago. They are not always there but are frustrating when they are and I do feel it's became my new obsession. In the past I was always just waiting or had fear of the next intrusive thought or unwanted urges, now its as though I'm just expecting command's. I guess it's the usual thing with this type of OCD though, if I'm worried or show attention to it, I'll become obsessed with it.

I had voices with my harm ocd. Can you tell me more about them? Don't need to go into what they're saying, just rh characteristics etc
I've always had commands, they aren't voices but they may come across as though they are because my brain is telling me things like "just stab him" or just kick her" etc. Its so annoying but I definitely don't get it as often as I used to.
@Pippa12 I had them too but they weren't half as alarming. Still duck though

Fear of schizophrenia im constant scanning and scaring myself into thinking it’s more then anxiety ocd. The intrusive commands/ images feel so real and overwhelming. I understand you
Yes me too. I check constantly like listening for something just incase it's there when I 100% know there isn't it. I used to have fears of the next intrusive image or unwanted urges to appear, now I guess its a new obsession that I am now just waiting/expecting to experience another command. Totally convincing myself that it can't be OCD even though I've had this condition since I was 15. The joys of this illness though isn't it. Literally makes you question everything.
@Pippa12 Yes it always feels so real. Ocd always tried to tell me that this theme is “different” from the last one or it can’t ocd cause it FEELS so real. This theme is so hard to get over. The fear and anxiety is so overwhelming! I feel like I can’t really trust my brain because of this it does make me question every thing. Every day.
I have been having these fears about developing schizophrenia, it reached a point where i am starting to almost hear things or the smallest sounds and my mind tells me you're schizophrenic, and i feel this weird sensations in my ear as if someone is whispering yet i can barely hear them, the thing is i am not diagnosed yet because i never work with an OCD therapist but i study psychology so i just used what i learnt to give a meaning to my suffering, many themes of this fear have been happening before and this schizophrenia fear is the last one. I want to know what advice you can give me or ways to make my brain calm down a little bit, i also don't have and can't afford a therapist that's why i am here in the first place I also want to know more informations or experiences with this theme if anyone habe experienced it and what helped you with it I remember feeling better for a while but than i collapsed back, but i am hoping to get better soon too or anytime in the future, I don't want reassurance so make sure you be as real as you can, and thanks 🙏🏻
Hi guys! I had really bad harm ocd about 2 years ago and I went through therapy and eventually got really good at handling it when it would pop up. The other day, I was scrolling on TikTok and came across a girl talking about a guy who was presenting a lot of schizophrenic symptoms but no one paid attention and got him help, he was having a lot of delusions, hallucinating, thinking everyone was out to get him, thought he was Jesus and his dad was the president and ended up doing horrific things. The day after that, I was dealing with some work drama and had the thought of “what if all my coworkers are against me and trying to get me fired”. That really stressed me out, cause I don’t normally think about them like that and I went down a rabbit hole of thinking that was the beginning of me developing schizophrenia, ended up googling stuff all night, taking tests, crying and seeking reassurance. I had a thought the other day “your dad is the president”, this one didn’t stress me out as bad as I knew it was just the video I had seen and it was an intrusive thought about it, and I also didn’t believe it. Today I was with some friends and I got a prize at a place we went and it said “lonely” on it. I do have my moments of feeling lonely and this week has been specifically trying so I had a thought like “oh someone’s out to get me cause I got this”. I know this isn’t logical and it wouldn’t make sense to just randomly get it if someone was truly after me and it was just a stupid prize at a random place, anyone could’ve gotten it. Im just struggling a lot with schizophrenic OCD and thinking I’m in the pre stages of it. In my good moments, I don’t think I am at all and it was all just sparked from the video I watched but in my bad moments, these thoughts feel real!! They really stress me out and make me feel like I’m going to lose my mind causing me to lose my job/ end up in a psych hospital/ never live a normal life/ end up alone, never see me my loved ones/ hurt my loved ones. I just want to feel normal and not like I’m about to lose my mind and everything I care about. Please help!!! Anyone else going through something similar and can help me get through this!
Themes constantly switching. I’ve been suffering with real event ocd the last year and am currently in therapy treating it. it’s nowhere near as bad as it was last year and it’s felt like a nice break. there’s days where it gets bad but i can’t compare it to the stress of last year. However i’ve noticed every time i overcome a theme a new one hits me out of nowhere. i’ve suffered with ocd since i was 9, and ive had multiple themes. i’m in a 2 year relationship with my partner and it’s amazing. she’s probably my second proper relationship due to the fact my first relationship gave me so much fear to get into another one as i was cheated on, and needed a few years to get over that. i kind of guessed that ROCD would creep in at some point as it just felt inevitable. anyways, i know my partner is not cheating on me, she’s beyond loyal, we are so so in love but i think due to that first relationship i had, being cheated on really messed with my head. it’s like my brain is telling me my partner has someone else even though i know in my heart nothings going on, and i trust her with my life. i also think because im in the happiest relationship of my life, anything that would indicate loosing her makes me feel sick and riddled with anxiety. and i know that’s completely normal for everyone. i think the most frustrating thing is, is knowing that my OCD has finally crept into my relationship which is something i never wanted it to do. this is a brand new theme and i have no idea how to treat this. i will speak to my therapist but if anyone has been through this theme and any advice in the meantime i would really appreciate it :).
