I have an interview tomorrow, SOS !!!

Anyone who's gone through interviews for part-time jobs/jobs in general and such,, I'd really appreciate some advice right now haha. Due to a program I'm in, it is recommended to get a job ASAP and as much as my parents are like "that's dumb, don't rush into things + we're heading to a different country to be with family soon" I still applied in a rush and now I have my first interview tomorrow. :,,) With OCD already messing with my nerves + the overall anxiety and "what ifs" this is also my first official time and I suck really hard at eye contact and struggle with stuttering a lot. (FYI. Doesn't help that throughout my entire High-school journey, and even prior,, my mental health has always been in the trenches so I have little to none experiences with volunteering, clubs, etc.. great. 🥲 At least now I have some teeny things I've added to my resume due to having a period of focus.) Alsooo, how's work in general ??? Part-times to be exact lolol, if there's even horror stories or literally anything do share so I know what to expect...

Hii, I’ve had my job for about two years now, so I was in the same boat as you when I had to do my interview. In general, I’d say the questions weren’t hard. Just the general why do you wanna work here, tell me about yourself, strengths and weaknesses, etc. Also, the interviews themselves don’t take long, I feel like mine was definitely less than 10 minutes lol. I also didn’t have many clubs or volunteer work on my resume, but the main thing I’d say the hiring managers are looking for is someone who can prioritize speed and accuracy. Just make sure to believe in yourself, and I hope you do well!

I freaked out about an interview a few weeks ago and it was nothing like what I expected. They didn't ask me any difficult questions because they really needed somebody for the job. Look at it as a chance to try smth new. It's your first time. Give yourself a break. Even if you don't get the job, it's good you put yourself out there and tried. Just do your best and have fun.. see what happens. All the best!

1, congrats on the interview! My first job was a full time job in carework, it was a very big jump. I was freshly 18, had struggled with intense social anxiety (plus other mental health issues) most of my life and had a pretty sheltered upbringing so I had literally no idea what I was doing and I had a lot to learn. You'll feel like a fish out of water for a few weeks, that's completely normal, but once you're settled, I promise you'll adjust and things will feel much more natural and approachable than it does right now. Would recommend googling common interview questions and rehearsing your responses to them. Also research a little about the company that's interviewing you! Sometimes they'll pop a question testing how much you already know about them and you can impress them if you've researched some stuff beforehand :)
