You are being a mom. You are caring for your childš Your OCD is picking on what you deeply care about. You are NOT these intrusive thoughts and urges.

@Hopeful58 This wave of panic has come over me a few times and I have a few moments like this. It scares me so much. I love my baby girl so much. This one is so hard.

@ItsNotMeItsMyOCD hey iām not a mom, but i have had some not so great thoughts while changing my nephew. i know i would never do anything of that nature to him or anyone. just know that you genuinely care for your daughter, and that these thoughts or urges are just attacking that. if you feel this panic, itās more than likely a strong indication that itās against your morals.

@ohjeezbru What scares me is that these sensations come out of no where. Iāll feel a wave of panic and itās like my body is reacting to it like stated above. Iām very hyperaware of my hands when changing her. Iām very careful with her diaper changes. This slight pressure change has sent me through the roof and it came out of no where and it has happened before while bathing her. Itās not something I plan, I have no desire to harm her whatsoever. I just donāt get it and it freaks me out that I canāt find similar stories to relate to. Thank you so much for your response.

@ItsNotMeItsMyOCD i havenāt been able to really find situations similar to mine either and thatās been rough because it makes me feel like a worse person, but i just gotta tell myself that us as humans make mistakes. as for your situation i have also dealt with being very careful and mindful of my hands because im scared of touching anything inappropriately. youāre genuinely not alone. i hope that these responses can maybe help you deal with these thoughts in a mindful and healthy way.

@ohjeezbru Thank you so much for your kind words. They truly mean so much to me. When people take the time to respond to these distressing times it makes me think that there still are amazing humans out there.

Oh no Iām so sorry you are having these thoughts. These are taboo intrusive thought and feel even more distressing because they are more disturbing in nature. Iāve had these before and itās horrible. OCD will attack with the things or people you care about the most. These thought are NOT you Nor are they a reflection of who you are or what you want. Itās confusing and frighting but thatās what OCD does. I experienced this with my little sister and it makes you feel like a horrible person but the thing is itās not you and these thoughts are not real!!!š¤ you are not alone mamaš«

@Vanessa⨠Awe. Thank you so much. I just donāt understand why my body does this. It only happens under extreme panic. I feel like I cannot relate to anyone. This has been so horrible.

@ItsNotMeItsMyOCD Omg I know!! Thatās why I was intrigued finding this app is also about community and we can all support each other!! Reading these and finding taboo topics that not everyone can talk about is helpful in not making me feel alone. I thought I was a horrible person but once I caught on to OCDās mind games I was able to work on it properly. Itās going to take so much work but you will get better with time!!
