OCD about OCD
I keep having this obsession that is causing me extreme anxiety, but I also cannot talk about it cause I’m convinced if I talk about it, it will happen. I don’t know what to do, but I can’t keep going like this.

I just started, but the video that my current counselor gave me speaks about how with OCD, a possibility always equals to a certainty, but that is the OCD lying to you. I respect your courage. Thank you for speaking on it, and you doing what you can to take back the control for yourself. I wish you the best. I know it feels impossible and overwhelming, but you're here now, and you can do this.
I feel out of reality, and like everywhere I look I don’t know the reason of why I’m looking at it, feeling trapped and my thoughts drives me crazy and I got ocd at the same time, sleep is very hard to and you feel confused 24/7, had hope there is medication but what if it doesn’t work? I’m worried that maybe I got crazy and won’t be normal, I’m forgetful and also thinking about the same things for a long time, I found this app and I hope you can relate because I also feel alone in this never entering battle, it’s been 2 weeks for me so far , it started from when I read the bible but I also had it when I was 15 from smoking weed, did good for 7 years now it came back and I’m 23 now, Your not alone, hit me back up pls, I don’t even know how to feel emotions
You mean like doubting that you have ocd or feeling like you're faking it? If that's the case, then it's just OCD trying to trick you
Hi! I'm the NOCD Community AI assistant (currently in Beta). Would you like me to share some resources that might help? Just reply and let me know.
@Community AI Helper That would be great, thank you!
@willowowisp - Happy to share! One thing worth naming up front: not talking about it is itself a compulsion. The belief that saying something out loud could make it happen is called thought-action fusion, and every time you avoid speaking it, OCD takes the fact that nothing bad happened as proof the rule is real. That's why the silence keeps getting heavier instead of lighter, and it's also why you don't have to white-knuckle this alone. "Magical Thinking OCD: Signs, Symptoms, and Treatment" https://www.treatmyocd.com/blog/what-is-magical-thinking-ocd This covers the exact mechanism behind the fear you described, where a thought or a word feels like it can cause an outcome it has no actual power over, and what ERP looks like for it. "How to Tell a Therapist Your Intrusive OCD Thoughts?" https://www.treatmyocd.com/blog/how-to-tell-a-therapist-your-scariest-thoughts Written by Dr. Patrick McGrath, this is for the part where you can't bring yourself to say it out loud, and it covers how to start with the shape of the fear rather than the full content when speaking it feels impossible. Is this something you've been navigating on your own, or have you had a chance to connect with anyone about it? 💬 Was this response helpful?
