How was everybody’s day
How was everybody’s day
Mine is good so far!! How was yours?
@aralways Pretty good school but over all not bad
It was ok. I actually had my first NOCD session which made my morning. I’m currently getting used to being on Prozac and it’s been a difficult experience. I’m on day 11.
@Alma88 Prozac was hard for me at first too,, but it gets way better!! U got this!! Did you like your therapist?
@aralways I loved my therapist! I’m looking forward to the next session. Can you share more about your experience on Prozac? I have my psych appointment tomorrow and I’m very close to giving up. I’m experiencing anxiety surges, jitters, louder/intense intrusive thoughts than before I started, dehydration, headaches, sweats, low mood, and some mild emotional blunting. It’s not me at all. When did you start feeling better? I want to at least give it the full effect before I decide. I’m also concerned I won’t be “me” with it.
@Alma88 I actually did end up needing to get off of Prozac because it exacerbated my migraines - but I’ve had those before and that’s very much a me thing not a Prozac thing. First maybe 4 weeks I had bad anxiety, rocky sleep, body aches, fatigue. First 1 week I had nausea and I can’t remember maybe headaches. The only side effect that didn’t eventually go away for me was jaw clenching. Everything else went away. I didn’t experience significant emotional blunting so I can’t speak for that one. I was on another SSRI before Prozac and it did cause emotional blunting and so I stopped it. That one also caused hardcore depression at first but the depression totally went away after a few weeks - so that’s totally possible. You know your body best. It’s true that pushing through it, much of this has strong potential to get better. But also, if you really can’t handle it or don’t think it’s a good fit, don’t let anyone else tell you that you can and should handle it. What you’re describing is all normal though, and also I think it’ll be ok no matter what. SSRIs aren’t permanent. If you stay on it, and it all improves but you don’t feel like “you” then you can stop 🫶 I didnt feel like “me” on the last one I was on, and I stopped and it got better :) I don’t regret trying it. I don’t think you will either.
@aralways I found that by week 5 or 6 the Prozac was really helping my anxiety/OCD significantly :)
@aralways This is very encouraging thanks so much ❤️. Yeah I noticed I’m pretty textbook when it comes to the symptoms. I’m normally very affectionate and I feel emotions deeply but with Prozac it’s gone a tiny bit. Not a whole lot since I still cry (I cried A LOT yesterday during my first NOCD session) and a giggle or joke here and there. It’s just not as much as before going on Prozac. Then again the side-effects and other meds play a role so I’m trying to be understanding. I just want to still be me just without intrusive thoughts 😔 I also get anxious a lot about the future which is another ocd issue I have. Like certain things my brain connects it to doom and gloom when there’s really nothing to connect it to. I appreciate your input 🙏
@Alma88 I think it’s gonna be ok :) I will say , it’s possible Prozac may mute your feelings a little bit. If it does it a lot, switch because not all SSRIs will do it so much. But generally, no med will be perfect unfortunately. That’s something I’m trying to come to terms with too :( take it day by day and listen to your body. And definitely if you can tolerate it I’d say give it around 8 weeks before forming a judgment - unless side effects are notably bad for you.
Mine was really bad but getting through it how was yours?
@Lelaa I hope it gets better mine has been okay one of the better ones for sure
