Urges. Fuck you.
Break up urges in OCD are the absolute worst. Last night I had a very difficult time falling asleep. After dealing weeks with my POCD, my ROCD started up again. It basically said that I’m too mentally unwell for a relationship and I need to be single to work on myself when I know that isn’t true. I can be in a healthy and loving relationship and still work on myself. Those two things can co exist. What doesn’t help either is that my OCD started to get worse since I was in a relationship so my brain is like if you break up, you won’t have to deal with this anymore but that just isn’t fair. Why should I have to miss out on normal human things because of OCD? I know when good things happening or big things are happening, it can make OCD worse anyway, and I’m not allowing it to win but it’s just so f*cking hard. OCD desperately wants me to be alone forever and not have good things and try and convince me it’s just keeping me safe. I am not falling for it anymore. My boyfriend knows not to believe me when I say I want to break up. He knows it’s OCD before I do and I’m so thankful for that. I’m not giving in, I deserve happiness and this relationship that means so much to me.
