I'm trying not to Google this over and over. If you committed a bad thing in the past, can your therapist report you? I'm scared to death of being reported but I need to confess to my past discretions if I'm ever going to get over this.
Depends.... as long as there is no IMMEDIATE or imminent danger..... they are not necessary mandated reporters. Like they are and they aren't. They KNOW you are hear to treat OCD... we alll are. Give yourself some grace!
A lot of therapists are bound by confidentiality, and there’s a difference between intrusive guilt and an actual current safety issue. It’s okay to talk openly with your therapist about your fears around disclosure and reporting before getting into specifics. I recommend it.
There is no current safety issue but I have learned recently that what I did is considered a bad thing even though I harmed nobody but myself. But I appreciate the advice and I'll probably ask this first thing.
