Am I naïve to want to feel back to normal before this episode started two months ago and thinking that it might?
I bet anyone with OCD has wished to be who they were before OCD exploded in their life. But here is what may actually happen to those in OCD… Get into therapy with NOCD. Read about OCD. Do the ERP work. Listen, learn, rest… And incrementally, you get stronger. You see an intrusive thought for what it is and learn to let the, “it feels so real -I have to refute this thru a compulsion” go. You even forget to think about what used to be a trigger … wow! Healing is happening… OCD has lost its power… Then you realize- you are BETTER than you were before OCD reared its ugliness! Hallelujah!🎉🎉🎉
