any of my girlies on Abilify? did it help with rumination?
Yes. It changed the game for me. All my ruminations feel “forced” now so I don’t even try to engage with it. My mind is clear at only 2mg.
@anabanana1 lovely!! i’ve been experiencing some dpdr and had some intrusive thoughts that felt really unshakeable. I read some of your page and I relate to a lot of what you’ve been going through! just tired of my OCD questioning every little thing I do. Hope Abilify is able to work with my SSRI :)
@Anonymous It can get better trust me. Ask your psychiatrist about abilify
@anabanana1 just got prescribed it tonight! do you take it at morning or night?
@Anonymous Mornings. You can take it on an empty stomach (at least I do) it gives me a good amount of energy too without the anxiety
@anabanana1 cool!! :) question, would you be down to chat about your experience?
@Anonymous Yeah of course. I’ll tell you everything I know. I’m going into day 24 of the medication so I’ve acquired some initial knowledge
@anabanana1 have insta?
@Anonymous I don’t have insta unfortunately. But I’ll give you my email and when you type it down just reply back so I can edit it out of here lol. If not I can just send you a long text on her about everything I’ve experienced so far from how it’s helped my symptoms to the side effects to how my mind is now.
@anabanana1 sounds good! ready to write it down!
@anabanana1 hi friend! i don’t know if you wrote it down yet, but I wasn’t able to get your email yet :)
@Anonymous Hi, yes I wrote all of the relevant information about Abilify in the above post of mine that says edited at the end. I apologize for not providing my email, but I experienced a data breach a while back so it made me hesitate to share it publicly. Sorry about that. But if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask me in the replies. I’m available to help until my much needed bed time lol
@anabanana1 it’s okay!! did it take some time for it to adjust to your body/mind? i’m like worrying about not worrying lol, and i feel kind of empty brain 😭.
@Anonymous I got used to it immediately because I could not have waited any longer to have a calm mind. It was definitely a little bit disoriented coming out of the OCD fog. But now at 24 days I’m getting back into my normal life. After the 20 day mark is when the “full benefit” kicked in for me. But 4-8 weeks is when you’ll truly feel used to it since that’s the therapeutic window
I’m not a girly lol but can I get some info on this is it a antidepressant?
@erl44 it’s okay haha! it’s an anti-psychotic :) they’re sometimes used for OCD treatment, but they’re not the first line treatment!
@Anonymous Thank you 🙏
hey! I’m currently off meds looking to start something new that’ll hopefully help my OCD and anxiety/depression/ADHD, just curious what it looked like for you to get on abilify specifically? the psychs I’m meeting keep trying to prescribe me SSRIs despite little success with them 😭
