I was at work the whole day and ate before going but now im back home and I haven't eaten in 6 hours, I feel so dizzy and my heart is beating super fast. Does anyone else also get this? My eyes are really blurry too. Is it diabetes? I'm very scared
When I get super hungry / haven’t ate in a while I get dizzy too I think it’s just your body trying to say it needs some charge! Not sure if you have gotten up or changed positions but sometime when you get up fast or change positions fast dizziness, blurriness, and increase heart rate can all happen your body is just compensating for the change in position. Take deep slow breaths and feel the environment around you when you feel overwhelmed or scared by your health. If you are nervous for your health of course stop and talk to your doctor or make an appointment I’m not a doctor but remember our anxiety likes to catastrophize. You’ve got this friend🩷
I remember when I didn't eat sometimes during work I would get really shaky and nauseous and dizzy. Many times. Ajd one time I ate a plate of pasta and I got dizzy and my lips started tingling as well. My dad had diabetes so im very worried.
Also rn my hands feel a bit tingly it's weird and makes me anxious
@Anonymous If it’s in your family definitely schedule an appointment and talk to a doctor to check for sure. I think getting a diagnosis or confirmation from a professional would help ease your mind or atleast help you manage it if you do have it.
I have experienced symptoms from low blood sugar at times. 6 hours may be too long to go without eating. Especially depending on what you ate before. For me, my blood sugar trouble was part of PCOS and insulin resistance (solved that particular problem with taking D Chiro Inositol am/pm) and MCAS/Histamine issues which caused heart palpitations with low blood sugar at times. I’ve found naturopaths and holistic diet approaches to be most helpful! As always ask your Dr about diabetes especially if you have it in your family. But also…make sure you’re eating enough. I’m on my friends about this constantly.

@Anonymous Everyone gets low blood sugar. It naturally goes up when you eat and then goes down over time as your body uses the food you consume. I’ve been through seasons of life where I needed to eat every two hours and others where six was fine, and I don’t have diabetes. Insulin resistance is not necessarily diabetes, either. I’m not familiar with the lip tingling. If I were talking to a close friend I’d say that it’s time to get some peace of mind and ask your doctor about testing. I know it is scary, but it sounds like if it is diabetes you’re catching it early enough to manage it well. And if you do the testing needed and you’re clear, you can have more confidence taking some alternative approaches to your blood sugar fluctuations. Like looking into hormonal things, chromium supplementation, inositol, etc.
@Coret What test should I ask for? I started getting sciatica pain and nerve pain in my arms as well so I'm really scared because I read it's a sign or diabetes too
@Anonymous I’m not an expert, but I think the testing has to do with Glucose levels over time
