This time last year, I was terrified to leave the house and tonight I’m actually feeling excited to go trick-or-treating with my son 🧡
@Anonymous Awesome
Made it to my first meeting with my therapist, she’s cool as hell
I’m back to my regular work schedule after not being able to work for 2months!
@Meg521 I’m so proud of u!!!
Did my first ERP practice on my own!
@jossyy Good job ! Reach out to your ocd team (us) if you feel like you need some advice navigating unexpected situations
Starting Prozac!
@BeachedMermaid Same! I’ve been on it about a week 💖
@ElusiveButterfly Good luck ❤️
I made it through my hardest exposure yet in therapy this week
I started a new exposure, and I'm intentionally letting the thoughts pass. And it's going well! I hope you all have a great Halloween!
I’ve recently not been able to do anything other than leave my apartment for classes because of how stressed I would get and now I’m barely home!!
Ive gone to a concert out of town, a job interview, had multiple lunch and dinner plans, and managed to go to those with minimal issues.
I made it to OCD conquerer status!
Made dinner for myself last night :) And I didn’t freak out when I dropped my towel on the floor
Just proud that I’m still going to work after what has been a really hard OCD week
The scariest things I experienced this Halloween were my own thoughts
I went to therapy and practiced my homework and life is going better.
I attended a Halloween event 🎃
@OCDconquerer me too! I went to a haunted house for the first time in years and had a blast.
@Anonymous Nice!
Did an exposure today that was a lot harder to do weeks ago, and realized it doesn't trigger me nearly as much now. We've come a long way, baby!
I’ve been allowing questions to linger without the need to solve them urgently :)
I made it through an incredibly stressful past 24 hours
My birthday is tommorrow 😁😁❤️❤️❤️❤️I will be 20 😁
Happy belated birthday! I hope you enjoyed it.
@Anonymous Awww thank you so much!!! This so sweet thank you! 😊
I completed my 4th appt today and I feel like I’m finally on the right path and it terrifies me but I’m gonna keep going!
Recommitting to my response prevention even when I slipped up and performed compulsions.
Have my first appointment today!
Only checked about something a few times with a friend instead of many.
Restarted Prozac today. Tried to go as far as I could without it (managed nearly a year off meds) but I know I need it and that's OK. I'm hoping it will help with ERP.
For the past couple months, I have actually been able to fully be in control of my OCD and I'm taking that as a win ironically today it has been a little more persistent, but I'm using it to push me harder using my tools and continue being in control like I have happy Halloween. I hope everyone has a great night and their OCD is nonexistent.
I just hope NoCD knows what they are doing for the people. I spent about 1.5 years in ocd therapy and I reflect everyday how wonderful my life is now . Do I still have annoying thoughts? Yes ! Ocd doesn’t have a cure but I hope that doesn’t discourage anyone . Even though there is no cure once you get with a NoCD therapist, you will have bad thoughts but you just will not care as much
I’m able to do some things now because I want to, not because I have to
My Halloween plans didn’t workout the way I’d hoped. But I focused on what went right and feel grateful instead of getting down on myself.
I have struggled at school because of triggering noises and i got some headphones to wear during school and they helped sooo much I finally go to eat lunch in the cafeteria without having a panic attack.
Went to work, lead my team, despite several ocd themes popping in my head.
I had my first session with my therapist! Ready to conquer ERP’s
not calling off work each day, even though i felt the desire to.
Drove home 2 times this week after the gym with out turning around to check the road
@Anonymous That’s awesome! You got this!
I was able to mindfully clean my car and do my chores with no intrusive or compulsive thoughts . I also didn’t give into my just right thoughts by being overly anxious about my house not being right. I was able to do a few different things without ruminating on the next thing.
I’m sticking with it and practicing all my exposures with fidelity!
Going to get my FMLA paperwork done ✔️
I took a day off school to recharge and breathe
I finally got my car back from the shop after a month of uncertainty. Feeling all kinds of things. I’m happy I have it. One less thing to stress out about.
Got through two really hard ocd days
Being able to leave my bedroom and house for more than just necessities! Still a good duck~ 🦆
Since my therapist have decreased our meetings per month, I’ve started to get better at keeping myself accountable with exposures and also sitting with uncomfortable feelings
Made my way this week to OCD conquer ! So proud
I'm trying, that's all I can do for now.
I stood up for myself to get my diabetes medication changed.
Had a horrible unexpected situation of seeing someone I haven’t spoken to or seen for many years during my work day out in the community but I let myself feel what I did and when I was ready I got back to my work day still feeling crappy but I did it!
I went turkey hunting with my dad!
Awesome congratulations 👏
@Anonymous I got one too!
I found 'we will see' and 'I dont get/need to know' very freeing leading up to Halloween plans with my daughter's friends family (semi new people/ unfamiliar place) I was able to have an absolutely lovely time. Then I couldn't sleep and so today I'm anxious and out of sorts ... but yesterday was a big win!
I found an exposure that has been very helpful for my night terrors
Finally had the courage to ask for help when my blood sugar got too low.😁😁❤️
Finally getting help.
🎉Congratulations! It takes courage to start the journey.
