Does it actually work for you? And do you not feel like a zombie? Maybe it’s just my ocd but I’m scared I made a mistake by not going back to my old med but my psych claims no one gets side effects from it but I kind of feel like a zombie on it even tho it’s early in and I’m hoping it goes away cuz I read it never did fir some ppl :( anyone not get this from lexapro?
Hi! I took lexapro for quite some time and I had zero issues. Please keep in mind that when you start / stop any psych meds you’re GOING to feel like a zombie for at least a week. Give yourself some grace to get through that.
@Anonymous Yeah I think my ocd brain is just reading the Reddit posts too much and I’m second guessing not just going on my old med but I do feel like lexapro is kickin in faster than my sertraline did
I'm taking lexapro the first couple of weeks was a little rough but by week three you start feeling so good
Hey I’ve been on lexapro for a year and a half and it has helped alot. Just make sure you listen to your body and do what you think is best for you.

Personally, Lexapro never really helped me, but also I didn’t give me any new problems like I never gained weight on it. It never made me suicidal nothing like that, but it just didn’t work for me.
I’ve been on Lexapro for about 5 months now and I’ve noticed a huge difference! I had a really tough time getting used to it because I started while I was in a terrible cycle of being in constant panic so it took a couple months for it to really stabilize in my system. But it’s worth toughing out the weird symptoms at first!!
@mels That’s good to hear! I have somatic/breathing ocd that relapsed so I’m hoping it will do the same for me. And you don’t feel like a zombie either? It could just be my anxiety making me feel like that
@Anonymous No I definitely don’t feel like a zombie! Every now and then I’ll get kind of a floaty feeling but I think that’s just from my OCD not the Lexapro
People do get side effects on lexapro! I was on it for a year and it really helped. First week you will have side effects but most go away. The only thing I noticed is my dreams were more bizarre

First week I just had a terrible headache and some stomach issues but that’s it, I really wouldn’t be scared, I know I was at the time to start taking it but it really really helped me. And if you do have a bad experience you can stop taking it

@Anonymous So for anxiety they tend to put you on a high dose for lexapro, I started very low and was on 15 mg for a bit then moved up to 20 mg, I stopped lexapro bc it wasn’t strong enough and I was already at the highest fda dose
@Ellie<3 I take sertraline now and it’s really good. I also have tried Prozac but hated it.

@Ellie<3 Sertraline was what I was on! I was on 50mg which is why I think it took awhile to get better since it’s low. What dose of sertraline u on?

Hi everyone, I’m 23 and have been on Zoloft since I was 16. For the past couple months I’ve been having panic attacks more and I’m sick of feeling like a zombie everyday. My boyfriend said I’m very sad and unhappy then when I first met him 2 years ago…. He thinks it’s the medicine. Throughout the years I have upped and lowered my medication, but now, I feel as though it’s not helping. Either it was too much where I didn’t feel emotions at all like very scary stuff or it wasn’t enough to help me. I was given 5mg of Lexapro to try…. I’m scared to take it. All I know is how Zoloft is. I don’t want to go crazy on it, be allergic to it, etc. I feel like I’m going to trip myself out when I take it and not actually feel the difference. I could really use some positive feedback I really just want to be a normal human😭
For starters I was on this medicine before i remember the first few weeks were very scary and debilitating. I don’t remember why I stopped taking it , it was about 7 months ago. but I just recently started back because my ocd and anxiety has been off the chain. I keep having bad thoughts about the side affects and I’m terrified like “ what if I have a seizure” can anybody share an experience? Anyone on Zoloft here. Thanks !
So I have been diagnosed with GAD and OCD and my psychiatrist prescribed me with zoloft 🤔 but I dont know im really hesitant to start medication because im scared of the side effects and ik afraid of relying on a medication for a long time. Does anyone else take zoloft? What is it like? Any side effects?
