I’m on day 7 of 25mg of Zoloft. Technically I increased to 50mg today for day one. It was a rough day and depersonalization and anxiety were very high. I want to hear your success stories. Please don’t scare me with the negative.
Its incredible for anxiety in my experience. I dont get substantial improvement until 300mg-400mg though.

@ivankovich34 Depression dosage by FDA is 200, OCD is 200-400mg depending on tolerance

@ivankovich34 I went up by 50 until 200 then see if you need more. But i have high tolerance for SSRIs so everyone is different
Zoloft has been life saving for me. It does take like 6-8 weeks for full effects so hang in there. Know it will come and you’re closer to relief each day. It can increase anxiety when you change the dose. Depending on your anxiety at baseline, you could taper up more slowly if you wanted to not have increased anxiety for a day or two as you body gets use to the increase in dosage. I noticed around day 10 on a new dose, my anxiety was higher but then it would get better and each few days I felt more and more like myself

@ivankovich34 I’ve had panic attacks and severe anxiety as well. It has helped tremendously with allowing me to function normally like myself. It cuts down on the intensity of the anxiety. Instead of the immense dread of an OCD trigger that results in sobbing and panic for hours, the intensity lasts for a few seconds to minutes and then I’m able to use my OCD tools to get it to be background noise for the most part. It doesn’t make anxiety go away, it just lessons how intense it is. You’ll still be triggered by your obsessions, but the medication will hopefully allow you to manage the anxiety in a way that is healthy for your brain and allows it to learn new pathways to improve your symptoms overall. The medication helps make really tough ERP more manageable which is really helpful overall too

I have been on and off Zoloft for 15 years now. I’ve never tried anything new because Zoloft helps me tremendously. I completely doubted that it worked for me in the first few weeks but around week three and a half to four I started noticing that I was feeling better. I have extremely severe OCD but when I take my medicine consistently it is extremely manageable and truly not bothersome. For reference I am currently on 100mg but have been at higher doses before.
@strike1207 Thank you for this. In the beginning stages did you ever feel like your thoughts and anxiety were worse?

I have to be transparent with you though... the one main side effect is that it made the big O very hard to accomplish but I was honest with my husband and let him know that wasn't a big deal for me because my mental health was way more important than that side effect. I am now on Luvox and starting my journey all over again
@BritDealzzz Thank you for this. I do appreciate it. As you were upping your dose, did you get like intense anxiety and thoughts? I feel like yesterday day one of increasing, it was a hard day for me
@ivankovich34 - I think starting the meds … I didn’t see a change … I think the anxiety is probably just your OCD to he honest… we want relief right now and medication is a process but we definitely earned it once we start to find relief because we do need larger doses than people with anxiety/depression alone . It’s a process and it takes months
@BritDealzzz It’s so tough. My existinal ocd is so raw and I feel like I’m not even real and this world is fake. You’re right. I just want better now
@ivankovich34 - I can’t imagine having the flavor. I have ROCD and it’s hell but I think it’s all the same at the end of the day. Clings to what’s important to us

Hi everyone, I’m 23 and have been on Zoloft since I was 16. For the past couple months I’ve been having panic attacks more and I’m sick of feeling like a zombie everyday. My boyfriend said I’m very sad and unhappy then when I first met him 2 years ago…. He thinks it’s the medicine. Throughout the years I have upped and lowered my medication, but now, I feel as though it’s not helping. Either it was too much where I didn’t feel emotions at all like very scary stuff or it wasn’t enough to help me. I was given 5mg of Lexapro to try…. I’m scared to take it. All I know is how Zoloft is. I don’t want to go crazy on it, be allergic to it, etc. I feel like I’m going to trip myself out when I take it and not actually feel the difference. I could really use some positive feedback I really just want to be a normal human😭
For starters I was on this medicine before i remember the first few weeks were very scary and debilitating. I don’t remember why I stopped taking it , it was about 7 months ago. but I just recently started back because my ocd and anxiety has been off the chain. I keep having bad thoughts about the side affects and I’m terrified like “ what if I have a seizure” can anybody share an experience? Anyone on Zoloft here. Thanks !
So my doctor is starting me on 25 mg of Zoloft soon and I'm actually really exicted. I'm finally ready for this to be manageable. I know it's not a cure but I am told that zoloft is primarily recommended for specifically ocd. I'm not sure if I'm ready to start it tonight but yeah. Please do not tell me any negative side effects or anything related to nausea since I'm taking it for emetophobic contamination ocd and I don't need any opinions to make me biased but if any of yoy had SUCCESSFUL zoloft stories please comment!!
