Discord and old photos

I really need help. Almost 3 years ago I was in a discord server with some kids at my school, and it was normal to send funny photos of our face to the group chat. I sent a few silly pictures of me but they are just really embarrassing and stupid. One time, a kid from the group chat sent me a photo I sent and it’s just so bad looking back, and I was really worried about him sending it to others and etc. Later I deleted my account in fear of it being there, even though I couldn’t find it in the group chat at that point. Roughly a year later, I was invited to join this group chat again so I did (2 months ago), but I was looking at the beginning of the groupchat and I saw these photos and it made me start panicking and just worrying if other have these photos saved and if they sent it to other people. It’s been 3 days since I found this and I can’t stop thinking about it, and just worrying because no one can remove these photos without deleting the groupchat, and I know the owner won’t do that. I just keeping thinking about the people in the groupchat seeing these photos and sending it to others because it’s insanely embarrassing to a point where I’m crying thinking about it, and I don’t want others to ever see it. Is there anything I can do to remove these photos?

The what if worries here is just ocd. No one will care that there are cringy old pics of you so please do consider talking to your therapist about your fear of rejection. You asking for help right now is really reassurance selling and it’s the compilation part of OCD. Try to sit with the uncertainty for a while of not knowing if the pictures will be found and if you will face ridicule for anything in the future. AI says: Here's how to delete your own images: Locate the image: Find the image you want to delete in the group chat. Delete the message: Click the "X" button next to the image embed to delete the message containing the image. This will remove the image and the accompanying text from the chat. Note: If you want to remove images you've sent in the past, you'll need to go through your message history and delete each one individually. There is no way to bulk delete images you've sent, even if you've deleted them from the server they were posted in.

@Anonymous Ty. My parents don’t believe in therapy so I can’t do that yet, and I don’t think I can delete the photo since my old account has been removed for too long and the owner can’t remove it either (a dumb discord rule). I really appreciate the help. Tysm

@beigeluver Well keep in mind, you are the only person who cares about those pics. Even if they are really cringy or embarrassing it doesn’t matter at all. Everyone pretty much has cringy pics of themselves on the internet and no one cares. Every person in your life is way too busy thinking about themselves to care what you are doing. Your friends probably all have similar fears of rejection. When you are a kid or teenager there is way more judgment than there will be later in your life. It’s just one of the aspects of being young that young people have a strong desire to fit in and conform and it’s something everyone grows out of. Later on the truly cool people end up being the ones who care the least about what others think about them. So while it’s totally understandable that if you are young you will panic about how people see you, this won’t matter later on. Everything will be okay! Consider talking to an adult you trust or a friend or parent about this because the fear is being made too big since it’s in your own head.

Worried about something…again

Hey, so I wanted to ask about something that is trying to bother me right now. I just thought to come on here before letting my mind ruminate over and over and over. So a year ago when I was 22, I did not have many people to talk to aside from my roommates who were either not home during the summer or just to themselves so I decided to try out Omegle. I talked to a few different people on there, but there’s two people in particular that kind of made me worried. There is this one girl I was talking to from Canada and she told me the story about her and her friends smoking weed, and I told her about how my female roommate used to sleep in my bed. But the way I told her that was by asking for her Instagram so I could DM her that rather than say it out loud because my roommate was in the next room. At some point during our conversation, she told me that she was 16, and I’m not even sure how we came about that but she told me. Before I continue, we were not flirting at all. We were just sharing stories, that was it. My intention was to not flirt at all with anyone because of age and the fact that they probably nowhere near me. Also, I just kind of thought it would be weird too. But now I can’t remember if she told me her age before I told her about my roommate or after I told her about my roommate, but I feel like it was before because I kind of felt like I should’ve unfollowed her after. And what made it worse is that somehow my roommate saw her Instagram handle and followed her as well. Another instance was when this girl was being very goofy and playing the character and I was joking back and I ended up being invited into their Instagram group chat, where I found out they were also 16 so without saying anything, I left the group chat. So my worries if this was inappropriate or was it just a conversation that I probably should’ve cut short. I’m not sure but it’s starting to worry me. And just for context, I have no idea that girl or anybody else since that day and it NEVER went sexual at all. So yeah, that’s the story

Harm OCD and my mistakes

18+ When I was in high school (16 or 17), I hung out with the popular kids of school... they send me this popular girl (who was in our school) explicit photo on snap because I was curious to see it... after I turned 19, I suddenly remembered my friends sent the photo and asked them to delete it off of the chat, as I didn't want to be in possession of any form of illegal material... Fast forward to later... my friend had broken up with his ex and wanted to send us explicit pics of her... curious at the time, I asked to see it and he sent the group (including me) some pictures... Now that Im 24, I remember him sending these pics and asked him to take down the pics in our snapchat convo... I didnt want any pics of their ex because this was harmful content... my friend, (the one who sent our friend group explicit vids and pics of his ex) told me that there was a one month period between him and her when they were in a relationship where he was 18 and she was 17 )... they were together for 1-2 years... and they were explicit throughout their whole relationship ... including the one month period... so i was getting extremely anxious and triggered about him sending me potentially illegal stuff... I asked him several times over the course of three days after he casually admitted he had a 1 month age period with her, (he was 18 and she was 17 during that one month) if she was over 18 when he made those videos, and he kept giving me answers like "Yes" And "It was a month after she turned 18..." He even got frustrated on the second day of me asking and said "Dude, this is the 10th time you've asked me and yes she was." On the third day I asked him, he said "yeah" when i said his previous comments of "a month after she turned 18, right?" back to him, and he even added that "we started getting more explicitly active around this time." He also told me "Even if she was under the age of 18, you wouldn't be in trouble because you were sent it." Yesterday, I called him again and apologized for asking so much... to which he responded... "I was hoping you'd realize this has been excessive..." But then I asked him if she really was 18 in those videos or not... he got frustrated and said... "Dude, you cant keep apologizing over and over, before asking me again..." Still, I asked him to confirm it for me one last time, to which he replied... "She was 18 in those videos..." I keep getting anxious because I dont know if he's lying or not and its triggering me really bad, not to mention feeling guilty about the harm I had caused... I genuinely feel so guilty and awful about this... I hurt people... and I cant sleep at night knowing I did... People say you make mistakes when you were a teen... these were some of my mistakes... I genuinely feel horrible and I cant sleep at night knowing the guilt of my actions are still there... I genuinely feel awful... I hope people dont hate me after reading this... i hope you dont block me... you've all been so genuinely kind and encouraging to me... and I dont want to lose someone who cares about me on here...
