I relate more to this than OCD which furthers my “OCD doubt”

I relate more to this than OCD which furthers my “OCD doubt”
First of all get off Reddit lol second the symptoms are very similar so even if it was a misdiagnosis and u have adhd rather than ocd doesn’t make ur thoughts any less intruding doesn’t make it any less valid
@suspectedocd3!!R I know it doesnt make them less valid. These are people giving their experiences and misdiagnosises and what had TRULY helped them. Thats at least as valuable as a psychiatrist
@suspectedocd3!!R Ive had “OCD” all my life. Been on many SSRIs, tried augmentation with multiple antipsychotics, buspar, and all kinds of OTC meds to help OCD and anxiety, such as magnesium, NAC, etc., all to very little success
@truetrev So you genuinely think you’ve been misdiagnosed?
@suspectedocd3!!R Misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed, if i have both conditions. She won’t prescribe me ADHD medication even to test my theory.** ** this is because she thinks its my OCD convincing me that i have ADHD. She thinks by testing for ADHD it will further worsen OCD. I’ve convinced myself in the past of having different illnesses that I don’t have so I think she also is taking the hypochondria into account. But two things can be true simultaneously
@suspectedocd3!!R I also just think that when anxiety is your main symptom, professionals go straight to GAD, OCD, and dont consider ADHD even though anxiety is a major adhd symptom
@suspectedocd3!!R Also what do you mean “get off reddit” Am i not allowed to be on reddit because i have OCD? Thats not a way to live life, seems like avoidance
@truetrev Have you tried consistent ERP therapy before? If not, I highly suggest giving that a try :) Some people are medication resistant and so only ERP gives them relief from their OCD
@truetrev No love thats not what I meant😭😭 the way u worded ur post led me to think that u were having doubts abt whether or not ur ocd is real and I wrongly assumed that u were performing compulsions to prove that doubt right
@suspectedocd3!!R That’s what my psychiatrist thinks. She thinks my OCD is so bad and it is convincing me that my doubts are real.
@suspectedocd3!!R I don’t know what I think anymore. I barely feel like a person with a personality.
@truetrev Also btw, you said your therapist/ psychiatrist doesn’t want to prescribe you ADHD medication and that’s a healthy call if you haven’t had an official diagnosis first to make sure. It can be dangerous to use incorrect drugs that might not suit your condition. It can be compared to getting diabetes medication to test things out when you don’t have diabetes, ya know? Better safe than sorry ❤️
@Love1another<3 I get her reasoning I’m just impatient and in constant suffering so it’s hard to sit with that
@Love1another<3 Well im on ozempic and dont have diabetes. There are multiple uses for meds…. I get your point but idk
@truetrev I don’t know exactly what you’re going through but you’re not alone
@truetrev It’s true that some medications are used to treat multiple conditions! That can certainty be helpful with a diagnosis. But it can legally be considered “medical malpractice” if a psychiatrist prescribes medication without a diagnosis as that can harm a patient and therefore, also cause a huge lawsuit. So it’s a liability as well that your professionals probably want to avoid getting in trouble for
