I’m freaking out that I still have love for someone from my past. Of course showed up in my dream last night. I haven’t even thought about this person for the past year while being with my partner. What????? Ugh this never ends does it
i’ve had dreams of exes i do not have feelings for while involved with someone else. i think that can be common. but for us we think there is meaning behind it times a million. i try to remind myself of other dreams i’ve had though. i had a dream my dog dyed her fur purple and we argued about it bc she did it without my permission lol.
@paytonxo I was like I still have love for him (in my head) and 5 minutes later I was like omg I still have love for him is this true ????? Freaking out idk what to think. Not even the dream that’s freaking me out more so the thoughts I’m having today
@Mk3 maybe try thinking of all the reasons you do not still have love for him? think about all of the reasons you love your current partner. keep reminding yourself this is just your ocd. when i have full ocd spiral episodes i repeat to myself “this is just my ocd these feelings will pass” over and over. obviously i still have the intrusive thoughts and overthinking but i think it helps me a bit reminding myself it will pass and i won’t be stuck in this overthinking spiral forever. and if you’re comfortable talk to your current partner? if they know and have helped with your ocd before maybe they can help you realize you only have love for them not your ex. especially since it’s been so long since you even thought about this ex.
@paytonxo Yeah talking to my partner would be confessing and reassurance seeking which would not be good :( But thank you for the other advice yes!!!

I’ve been with my partner for almost a year now, and my rocd has become really really bad. I keep feeling like I fell out of love and I just have eyes for other people now, and that I would rather be with someone else. It feels like I’m infatuated with other people and it makes me so guilty. It’s been so hard for me because it’s hard to tell if it’s just my brain convincing me I don’t love my partner or if this is really my desire. The biggest fear I have is hurting my partner, so there’s also a sense of urgency that I need to tell them how I’ve been feeling to prevent myself from leading them on I guess. This is compounded with a history of porn addiction that still affects me and makes me feel like I’m more attracted to others. Has anyone else been in this position? I feel like I’m alone and that this is the sign that I’m terrible and shouldn’t be with my partner and that the end of our relationship is inevitable. I can’t tell if I really love them or not and if I really want to still be with them and I hate that I’m having that doubt.
Ocd sucks. I’m at a stay away multiple days long event for school rn and ran into someone I used to talk with. We had a will they won’t they kind of thing for years and knew each other all growing up. I knew when we were really young that he had a crush on me for a while. And then when we got older there were times I had a crush on him but I don’t think he liked me anymore at that point. I never fully knew where he stood because he often was in a relationship or living somewhere else. Because we never dated or kissed or anything, only hung out on ambiguous date-like occasions, there has always been that what if sitting there for me and I hadn’t seen or spoken to him since before I met my current partner years ago. Well they happen to be at this place I’m staying at, where we are in the same places everyday, and I ran into them, said hi and caught up for a bit. It has totally triggered my ROCD in a way I’ve never experienced. I feel guilt and shame and keep having intrusive thoughts that are so extreme and catastrophic like what if I leave my partner of 8 years for him, what if I find him more attractive than my partner, what if I cross a line while I’m interacting with him this week, what if I’m a terrible girlfriend to my partner and a fraud??
My ex boyfriend broke up with me last summer and it was really rough on me even thought we only dated for a little while. He treated me terribly but I guess I wanted it to work. However during the fall I was healing well and met my current boyfriend. I knew him as a kid and we reconnected and started dating. It’s the most WONDERFUL relationship ever and I love him so much. However for the past couple months, on and off, I have been obsessively thinking about my ex, to the point of feeling so sick to my stomach. Just the thought will do it. I have been stopping myself from checking his instagram because that just makes it worse. I do not want me ex back at all and I am so happy now. I recognize these thoughts as intrusive and hurtful. I just want them to stop and be in the moment. Has anyone had a similar experience? What did u do? Also, I want to tell my boyfriend about this but I am unsure on how to do so.
