Who thinks it is okay to just stay single because your mental health problens are too complicated? I just think about how much explaining I have to do and how many people I will have to explain it to before one person maybe understands.

I also had like a perfectionist thing that was holding me back. Like something was wrong with me or something was wrong with her or something happened and it wasn't perfect anymore. I worked hard to overcome this. I approached women where tbh I thought I was doing them a big favour. I thought I would be a good guy. I got rudely turned down. I only get interest from old women and men. It is starting to feel insulting. Does this make sense?
As someone who is in a relationship and has been struggling with ROCD since the very beginning of it, yes. My boyfriend is so understanding and accepting of me and my OCD but I still have a hard time with it. I can’t help but think about if it would be better if I were just single. Then I wouldn’t be hurting like this, nor would it feel like I’m playing some sort of role (because that’s what it feels like a lot of the time when you have ROCD and aren’t feeling totally smitten like your partner might be!) I still struggle with the idea even now 10 months in, but I try not to dwell on it too much because I know I’ll fall into a spiral if I give myself even an inch of room to obsess about it. That might not be the “right” thing to do in terms of dealing with ROCD but honestly it’s fight or flight everyday so I’m just trying to make it though lol
I have POCD and SOOCD not to mention Tourette's and staring tics which are always directed to things I don't want to look at. I'm sure you can imagine. I honestly feel like I can't be bothered with pushing the relationship issue. 😕
I’m in a relationship and have RJOCD and I think a lot about how maybe I’m just not meant for a relationship because it’s too painful. But at the same time, I don’t want to deprive myself of the beautiful things that are a part of a relationship. One thing I can say for sure is that if I were starting out again, I’d go much much much slower in developing a relationship, leaving lots of room to manage the OCD.
I mostly have harm ocd and it was focused around my daughter and wife. Before I knew this was called OCD I was also very scared . I wanted to check myself into a hotel and hide from everyone. I love my family and I didn’t take that route . Basically if you want to be in a relationship I think you should go for it . You let your ocd know that it will not stop you from doing what you want to do . It is very very very scary but we can handle it
Relationships don't seem to be on the table and it has been that way for a long time. I've worked so hard on me but it hasn't really made much difference. I've lost weight, I've given up drugs, drink and smoking, I own a business. I'm 42 and pretty soon I'll only have old women on the table. I can't see why I'll even get that.
@Newerthannewb82 This is actually not true ! People put their own limitations on themselves . You can have what you want . You just have to introduce to what you are attracted to and don’t feel discouraged ever by set backs . Feel comfortable with women telling you no it’s fine . Just live your life and when you see people you like be polite and introduce yourself . Again be comfortable with no because yes Will come too
I've gotten diagnosed with OCD and I'm in therapy. But I'm worried that I don't have OCD/that I got misdiagnosed. And recently I'm worried that I've just gotten myself into a habit of thinking of dirty minded or just plain old terrible things after I see/hear certain things because I feel like I need to prove I have OCD or else I'm faking(sometimes this goes away). Or that I'm just mimicking symptoms of ocd to cope with real problems I may have and that im just really deep into denial. I don't know...I'm just so tired. I mean, what if I really am what I think I am and this is my brains only way of coping? I don't even really feel anything towards most of the thoughts anymore either I just know they go against my values and I don't want them. I don't know if that's because I'm so mentally exhausted, I just don't care, or that the thoughts are true and I'm comfortable with them.
So I was on a hat chat gpt and it said that people who are non-offenders experience distress and anxiety and disgust and depression and they feel ashamed of being a non-offender like WHAT like that's honestly terrifying and I'm so scared because that's how I've been feeling like when I'm out I get anxiety too especially when I see a younger person I always been attracted to MEN my whole life can people turn into monsters and I don't even care if they have problems if there attracted to kids then there sick in the head like don't care like this has been sharing me soo much and the worst part about it is that they said some are in denial or suppress their attractions I'm so done...... I can not do this this is too much I would rather be gone from this earth than find out that I might be one like you have to be kidding me if you're attracted to young people and desire that you're sick and dead to me you're a monster I don't care like its disgusting. for this eole some people are suffering from POCD like me are scared to think about that and I'm terrified.
Told my close friend about how I think I have harm ocd and showed a video describing her experience with it so I wouldn’t have to share mine. Told him how when I see the number 22 I get paranoid that I’ll harm someone, and he gave me advice to go to a psychiatrist then left me on read after we were having a conversation prior. I’m so scared to open up to people about it and now I don’t think I will again.
