I was sitting next to my daughter. Idk what happened it was like I twitched and my arm went toward her. But then i stopped middair. I dont recall the details but ocd says i was doing something inappropriate or touching inappropriate. Thats not who i am. It could have been an involuntary action or i extended my arm and than got anxious so brought it back but i tried ignoring it and had false memory now
I go through the same thing man it’s okay it’s just your mind I have been ruminating on a situation from last week and I can reason with myself I did nothing but then my mind makes me doubt. I feel better when I don’t think about it at all and tell ocd to fuck off and ignore it cause it’s not true

@Anonynmous19 Just to ask when you get the thoughts does it happen and then let’s say 5-10 seconds your thinking while doing something related to helping out with the kids and when you snap back into reality you can’t tell if it happened or didn’t ? Almost like you daydreamed real quick then it was hard to tell?
@OCDSUCKS51 Absolutely!! I literally just had that right now. Im sitting down doing a house project and was just daydreaming as i was waiting to start than i seen my kid. I dont remember the details but i think it was an intrusive thought of my daughter and then idk if you get this but ocd has this like green goblin like mental voice saying “you like this, youre evil, smiling in my head saying im bad” and im like just sitting with it. Than i get bodily reactions or urges like mostly groinals and ocd goblin like voice says “youre aprusing youreelf you like it youre leeaning into it “ i just was sitting and almost like mindfully third person observing but i feel guilt for doing this and not neutralizing it and than i get doubt like did i do anything wrong. Because im doing nothing about it while ocd is telling me all these things and makes me feel am i acting on the thougjts by sitting with it. And i feel guilt like i did something which i know is an ocd symptom. I snapped out of it and back to reality building a shelf but its moments like these where it felt like a ocd daydream attack and i feel guilt and stuck. You get that?
@Anonynmous19 100% I get that as well but mine really are images almost like flashes in my mind and I think it happened but when I snap back I’m just standing there kind of frozen with fear that I did something. Is that how you feel as well? We know it’s nothing it’s just our minds

For me its intrusive statements or images for example did i lean or was it just the image, did i thrust my hips or was it a inage, whatever the image is when i snap back i doubt if i did what the image was or the intrusive statement was. For me it comes in images and statements smh youre not alone
@Anonynmous19 Glad we both feel the same. Mine is so hard to tell if it happened or not especially a day or 2 after of constantly thinking about it it becomes a cloudy memory and my brain adds things that I know didn’t happen I just froze up and couldn’t comprehend when I snapped back into it if it happened or not

So I dealt with something a couple weeks ago that's caused me DEBILITATING anxiety. I just want to know if this follows the OCD pattern. I talked with my therapist and she confused me. Just say if follows along the OCD pattern or not. I don't need reassurance per se! My daughter was laying across me and every time I breathed a certain way I was getting a groinal sensation. I kept breathing like that anyways (ugh idk why), and then my mind told me I had hurt her that I might as well do something else to hurt because what's more. So idk why or what overcame me other than the thought of doing it because my mind told me I had hurt her already ("my mind literally made me question what to do and I guess the only thing I could come up with was using my elbow) and causing another feeling but it came across my mind to elbow her, and I elbowed her crotch or side/thigh area. Which caused another very unwanted groinal sensation. Then I began FREAKING smooth out. And I've been stressing since. I feel like as a mom I don't deserve to be hers anymore. I was doing SO well! Is this really the POCD I was diagnosed with?
I was giving my child a bath. I picked her up out the tub because shes small. But the momentum of picking her up she swang a little toward my body and ocd said did i hip thrust kr do anything wrong. I did a compulsion saying NO repeatedly. And i put her back down and beforehand i didnt have any ill intent just to help her get out because shes a toddler. I had other intrusive thoughts but tbats not my intent i was just trying to be a good dad
I had to give my daughter a bath and wanted to help my wife bear the responsibility also read online pocd to not avoid bathing. I told myself I am going to bathe my child because im a good dad. As i bathed her i went to wipe her arms and torso. I was going to get her armpit and arm but with the sponge I wiped her chest erogenous area. Then i got anxious and did a compulsion and said “im sorry”. Then ocd said whyd i wipe there ni shouldve wiped her arm or armpit. Was i doing anything inappropriate. Or ocd said not to wipe there and I did so did i do anything inappropriate or with inappropriate intent. I hate having pocd and living parallel with this voice in my head. I know my intention wasnt inappropriate i even prep talked before and did the compulsion of apologizing after wiping. Now im questioning whyd i wipe there first before her arms and armpit since ocd told me to avoid her chest. Then i worry did i have ocd intrusive thought saying i wanted to wipe there and if i had this thought and i wiped there than it means i acted on the thought. I know i wouldnt do anything inappropriate to my child and i know my intent wasnt wrong.
