I know how that feels. It's like the second you find some relief, it comes back swinging but you can do this! Don't give in. I don't know you, but seeing that you're here I know you can face this. You have us! We are here to support each other!
Yeah, that sneaky little bugger, often tries to get as with something new, if it's old tactic doesn't work properly anymore.
Hey, you know how to handle the SOB now.
I love you attitude! That is an encouragement to me too!
I'm so glad to hear you've been doing amazing! It's tough when OCD tries to sneak back in, isn't it? But it sounds like you have a solid plan to ride it out. Remember, you're not alone in this, and you have the strength to get through these moments. Have you found any particular strategies helpful in the past when OCD tries to take hold? Keep being kind to yourself and remember that it's okay to have ups and downs. You're doing great! 🌟
I get how you feel like fr. Especially when I have good days, I start feeling like maybe I am faking it. It's a theme that goes against my values as a person, which I know OCD does. Usually I am fighting contamination OCD, but when I am doing ok, it's like "you're a lier and a faker", " how do you keep this going, when you are just attention seeking".... Trust me, it's a hard to have your minditerally against you, but that is OCD, it takes advantage of you and lies to you. You need to just keep using your strategies and keep going. Don't over think it. Just let the thoughts drift like a cloud and keep moving forward. You got this!
I am (or was)! Yesterday, I started to get really anxious for unknown reasons, and then (just my luck) I got triggered by something online 😭 It's always so... humbling. I'm trying to sit with the intrusive thoughts at this moment, but I'm just feeling really icky and a bit down. With OCD, it's bound to happen at some point, I guess. Even without OCD, you're going to have good and bad days. It's just how life is 🥲 I'm just afraid of being slingshot back to how I felt a few months ago, which I know realistically WON'T happen, but my brain doesn't want me to think logically lol. I'm also afraid that the repetitive nature of OCD intrusive thoughts will somehow alter who I am as a person, making my fears a reality? It's weird. Classic OCD, but it still makes me anxious! I have been doing better not engaging with these thoughts, but occasionally, I'll accidentally argue back. It doesn't help because then my brain says, "You're just in denial, and you're actually a bad person!" And whenever I say anything in opposition of something against my morals, it feels performative or fake for some reason 🫠 I'm just venting at this point, I'm sorry! Anyway, if anyone reads this, I hope you're doing okay, and if not, I hope things look up soon. Take care of yourselves, stay hydrated, and rest well!
my OCD is doing what it does best and it’s randomly selecting themes. Once I’m not scared or react to one it bounces to another. And then i temporarily forget all of my coping skills for that theme. Rn it’s fixating on the time I had a panic attack and it’s trying to make me have one again
Themes constantly switching. I’ve been suffering with real event ocd the last year and am currently in therapy treating it. it’s nowhere near as bad as it was last year and it’s felt like a nice break. there’s days where it gets bad but i can’t compare it to the stress of last year. However i’ve noticed every time i overcome a theme a new one hits me out of nowhere. i’ve suffered with ocd since i was 9, and ive had multiple themes. i’m in a 2 year relationship with my partner and it’s amazing. she’s probably my second proper relationship due to the fact my first relationship gave me so much fear to get into another one as i was cheated on, and needed a few years to get over that. i kind of guessed that ROCD would creep in at some point as it just felt inevitable. anyways, i know my partner is not cheating on me, she’s beyond loyal, we are so so in love but i think due to that first relationship i had, being cheated on really messed with my head. it’s like my brain is telling me my partner has someone else even though i know in my heart nothings going on, and i trust her with my life. i also think because im in the happiest relationship of my life, anything that would indicate loosing her makes me feel sick and riddled with anxiety. and i know that’s completely normal for everyone. i think the most frustrating thing is, is knowing that my OCD has finally crept into my relationship which is something i never wanted it to do. this is a brand new theme and i have no idea how to treat this. i will speak to my therapist but if anyone has been through this theme and any advice in the meantime i would really appreciate it :).
