I’m one week into taking a new course of fluvoxamine. Has anyone else taken this? When did you see any results and at what dose? I’ve been told it’s the best medication for treating OCD. Curious to hear about other peoples experiences
Hi. I am also on my first week switching from Zoloft to Prozac ( fluviximine ). Scary switching meds but I’m hoping it helps.
Fluvoximine is Luvox- Prozac is Fluoxetine
Truth be told there is not " best or worst" for treating OCD or any other of the mental disease. Everyone is different and everyone responds differently. I started Zoloft about a month ago and it was ROUGH in the beginning, but I'm leveling off after one dose increase. it takes time. the best thing you can do is not try to compare yourself to others because you will experience a unique experience. also, stay off google, it only causes distress. TYPICALLY tho you should START to feel SOME improvement in 2-4 weeks. but its dose dependant and again person to person dependant so try to keep an open mind and I find keeping a journal to track my progress helps me see the small improvements I would otherwise overlook.
Hi everyone. I am currently on Luvox after being on Prozac (20-40mg) for the last 5 years. Prozac was no longer working for me so my doctor/therapist and I decided to switch SSRIs. With help from my primary care doctor, I tapered off of Prozac while tapering on to Luvox over the course of a few weeks. I am now off of Prozac and on 150mg of Luvox. I had a couple good weeks where there were more good days than bad, but recently I have felt more depressed, anxious, and in my head on 150mg of Luvox. The anxiety/Harm/Suicidal/Relationship/Pure OCD has been ramping up and it makes me feel a bit hopeless that I won’t get better. The mornings are hard when you feel like it’s just another day suffering through the ups and downs. If anyone can share their ideal Luvox dosage/medicine combo where they finally felt consistent relief from intrusive thoughts and rumination, I would be so appreciative. I know switching medicine and doing ERP is a long process, and I’ve only been in the thick of it for 5 weeks (6/29-8/2), but as I’m sure you can all understand, it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel with this disorder. Any positivity, encouragement, advice, coping mechanisms/tools and success stories are appreciated!
Hello everyone I was recently diagnosed with OCD. I’ve spent the last ten years battle extreme anxiety and obsessive thoughts. I recently started taking Prozac. For once in my life my mind feels calm. However, they just upped my dose and my anxiety is bad and I’m having trouble sleeping this is week 2 on the medication. Anyone else experienced this?
I have been taking Prozac 40mg daily it seems to be helping my ocd . I read that 60-80 mg has seemed to help people more with ocd Wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks
