I know a lot of people are struggling with their ocd or rumination etc so I thought I’d ask what’s your favorite hobby or video game stuff like Nintendo switch Xbox etc the reason I ask this question maybe you all can chat about this topic and take a break from rumination or find friends that have ocd but enjoy the same stuff you do
I needed this <3 I am an art major so I love art but lately traditional art has been stressing me out because I have a show coming up SO I’ve really been into up-cycling lately! I recently learned how to use a cricut so that makes it even more fun! I’m making things for my future house when I move out. It is pretty relaxing and I really surprise myself with some of the outcomes! On a different note I love playing Zelda on my switch. Finished BOTW and I’ve been playing TOTK. One of my favorite hobbies that I don’t get to do often (cause we have nowhere to put any more right now) is building Lego sets with my bf. I didn’t know how much I liked it until he introduced me to doing sets! Apparently I have a knack for putting the stickers on lol
@imjustagirlintheworld Haha ooo nice that sounds like a lot of fun and a lot of hobbies I just got back into playing my switch I lost the charger of course and I didn’t have much storage on my switch so I’m playing animal crossing new horizons so I haven’t found my “addicting” game just yet
Occasionally board games & non-gambling card games, reading an actual book so long as I find a story I can get into, occasionally video games, watching movies with my kids, taking our dog for a walk & now as a full time single dad, I am giving cooking a chance.

I wanna make this a thread of things that are helping or helped you overcome pure ocd.. From morning walks, journaling, or even a podcast share it here for everyone to see maybe we all can use a thing or two to help us BEAT this
I’m a Catholic Christian and I love my religion so much. I have found that every now and again, my OCD becomes triggered and I find myself distancing from God & my faith, and avoiding (or trying to) avoid God because religion starts to give me anxiety or trigger my OCD. Lately, like the past week and a half, I think I’ve been doing well. I’m still anxious (and talking about it makes me anxious too, so I guess this is kind of an exposure), but I’ve been trying to keep practicing my faith nonetheless. I’m proud of myself, I’ve been able to keep my OCD at bay and continue to live my life and practice my faith. I even have anxiety right now, but instead of dwelling on “what if?”, I’m trying to continue telling my OCD “so what?” I would just like to know, what do you guys do to deal with moments of anxiety or fear or irrational thinking?
So I know I’ve asked this question before but it’s like finding the final answer to this question is an obsession in itself ….so I get fixated on stuff like this week it’s video game addiction topics I will research about video game addiction stories until I tire myself out about them and last week it was getting a new gaming system and researching questions/topics about it until I’ve researched so much that I’m not even excited about said item anymore then it can go into ocd reassurance seeking so I get obsessed about researching ANY topic and it’s like when I get my fix im done with it and the next week it will be something new like why are we addicted to soda and it’s just a cycle … does anyone else deal with this? Is it part of my ocd or is it just me as a person please help
