does anyone else have this terrifying fear of being schizophrenic or a psychopath š i know i am mentally stable yet i feel like im living a lie in a way. i donāt know how else to describe it and im scared im schizophrenic and making reality up?? if that makes sense.
Also, give yourself credit. People always forget that they are always in control. Think about how much everyone suffers here and always worried about losing control. However, my friend told me this once when I expressed my concern over my intrusive thoughts. He said ādude, you know that everyone deals with intrusive thoughts right? Do you know how much control you have to have to not give into those.ā That like opened my eyes and allowed me to be kinder to myself. I was always so afraid of losing control, that I never realized I was always in control.

Yea I have struggled with this before. Something that has brought my comfort is knowing that there is no āfail safeā or āswitchā in your brain that can be flicked and boom I broke my brain. Iām crazy. That simply does not exist, there is no such thing as āsnappingā. In other words, if you are worried about becoming crazy, you prolly arenāt crazy. Iām going to say this and I really donāt mean to trigger you however, it something I needed to hear. āNothing that you have done in your life or ruminated on has stopped you from going crazy.ā I know itās a tough pill to swallow, but itās the truth. You canāt possibly think enough or ruminate enough to the point where āahh yes, if I continue to worry about this and think about this then it will prevent it from happening.ā You got this. Donāt worry, if you go crazy you wonāt even know. So the fact that you worry about it so much. You have enough self awareness. Crazy people donāt have self awareness. I believe in you! š

I asked my therapist how I could tell if I was hallucinating reality, if I was schizophrenic or insane and he asked "well do you hear voices?" and I said yes and he laughed and said "well then that's reality" he then said he didn't think I was crazy, that it's natural and ok to feel this way sometimes I dunno if that helps but it made me feel better šāØ

iām so scared im going to lose control and end up locked up or something. this is so exhausting!! i worry that what i have isnāt OCD and that im genuinely insane and im gonna end up in big trouble or that the urges i have are going to actually happen. i dont want to think these things ! i feel like a horrible human being!!
iām having a full on panic attack, i never used to be like this, what tf is happening to me, why am i like this, iām so convinced iām a horrible person and i deserve to be shut out forever because of my thoughts, iām tired of struggling with harm ocd, iām scared that because i have mental health issues iām gonna end up ki!!ing someone someday or end up on the news, when i was at work earlier i kept thinking āhow easy would it be to ki!! someone and get away with itā someone help, i donāt feel normal, am i crazy?ā¦ šši know that with ocd youāre not supposed to have reassurance and you have to be āokayā with the situation but.. how am i supposed to be okay with feeling like i could hurt someoneā¦
Paranoiaā¦ I need to know because Iām feeling very alone in this. Iāve never met someone with the level of paranoia that I have. I can logically explain things to myself and somehow my paranoia convinces me of another story. Iām constantly thinking exaggerated thoughts that there are so many scary possibilities. Am I alone in this or what? If so any suggestions on how to calm these thoughts
