Does anyone have like chronic thoughts about the damage capitalism does and like research things like “when will we have free healthcare” and like wake up for their 9-5 feeling so angry at the structure of the work day and how it takes up so much time. Like idk or have chronic stress over the genocide in Palestine or injustice
I work in healthcare, and previously worked in politics, so I understand how it feels to go through those systemic thoughts every day. It changed for me when I realised those thoughts don't help the problem, they only stressed me out and, ironically, make it more difficult for md to make a positive difference in what I am doing. It seemed to trace back to a feeling that I wasn't being a good enough person in the world, and that I didn't care enough. So I had to accept the limitations that I am not able to care about every cause all the time, but can be a better version of myself. For you and me who tend to think systematically, this can feel like giving up on the world, and focusing somewhat cynically on self improvement. But if the self improvement is for the good of your friends, colleagues, community, I think in a way it serves the purpose of improving the world in a small way. That's a take on the problem that has helped me let go of some of the worry.

There are people in Nordic economic model (what most Americans and Canadians mistakenly call "socialism") with OCD who wonder the same things about their situation, wondering if and when it will ever become more like free market capitalism. There are people all over the world who have chronic stress over the terror attack committed by Hamas against the Israelis No one lives in a perfect situation, and even if that were attainable OCD would still latch onto something to torture you over
Oh I thought he meant the genocide of Palestinians. Either way, maybe try to limit your viewing/reading of such distressing material.

Hi, does anybody here relate to waking up every day wondering what "to do in life". I am a woman who have worked for 20 years in the same field with hidden and untreated OCD which I thought I was "handling". I didn't know what it was and was convinced that my life would be destroyed if I said the truth about the daily thoughts I was bombarded with and my paralyzed avoidance. So I just kept going until it all collapsed by it self and I was diagnosed with OCD 18 months ago. Now as I am slowly understanding more and more I suddenly realized that every day I doubt my work and if it's the right thing to do. I still have some deals where I am supposed to deliver, and despite this it feels like my professional life is like a joke, I am a joke, so I ruminate at about what to do thought-out the day and then again the day after not doing what I am suppose to do to my work. I never thought about this as part of my OCD but it suddenly occurs to me that it very well may be. Very greatful for response. Wish you a wonderful day with good recovery.
OCD is so strange because I feel so mentally exhausted 24/7 but i’m so good at masking it that like it’s like i can think double. I’m not sure that makes sense. But i am so used to the OCD thoughts racing through my head that i can respond to my environment whilst completely existing in my head. I can have conversations when intrusive thoughts are taking over my inner dialect. I feel like i am even doubting whether i have OCD and whether it’s all just an excuse. I feel like my rumination hasn’t stopped for the past 3 years. Everything i used to enjoy or look forward to, is now dread and tainted by the thoughts telling me i never knew. I don’t even know what i like or who i am anymore. The thought of getting help and talking through it all scares me because what if i’m invalidated or if i speak about it too much then what if i don’t stop thinking. I’m so exhausted
Does anyone had or have the existential fear of our brain functions. I have so much hyperawareness in my thoughts, I focus all the time in my feelings and my intentions in order to check if I am strange or not and if I have control of my actions. I do psychotherapy 4 years and I thought I was fine. But this June I had a derealization episode(or ocd) , after that a depersonalization episode (or ocd) and after that I have obsessions about our existence and that every aspect in our lives has to do with our brain and for some reason these thoughts scary me. I know that at some point is ocd but I am very confused why this thoughts scary me so much. I observe others and I am curious how it's possible not to think about that and this make it worse . I am so anxious because obviously we are our brain ,I know that and brain has to do with everything,but I don't know why it make me anxious and if it's possible to live without these thoughts. I do many compulsion but my biggest is to figure out if I have compulsion in order to figure out if my thoughts is ocd or delusions. It's so real and these thoughts really bother me. Any other with same experience?
